Just a note, SNL is New York-based so a lot of Italian stereotypes portrayed are based on the ancestral culture of the Eastern US diaspora - which skews rural Sicilian/Neapolitan. American comedians from the Western US tend to stereotype further up north, portraying Italians almost like a warmer version of the French

Vinny is one of the top 5 SNL characters of all time. Bill's Herb Welch character is another top 5 as well. Pretty much everything Bill Hader touches is freakin' gold (except maybe Stephon, that's the one character I thought got boring real fast). His Vincent Price, James Carville and Keith Morrison parodies were falling down funny. When he wrote and did sketches with Fred Armisen and Cecily Strong, wow!

That ashtray! Reminds me of the cooks at my Italian university cafeteria who stirred the sauce with a cigarette in one hand. Hader's cadence while making those sounds was very convincing.

OmG is there anything Bill Hader can't do ? He is brilliant with the accents and impersonations..I love the guys eating pasta at the little table with the checkered table cloth
