You pull the overdrive knob OUT? On most others,pulling it out locks out the overdrive.

Is it converted from a 6volt system to 12 volts. I remember the OD being engaged in the bottom position and when shifting from 2nd to OD no clutch was needed.

Caution! When shifting from 1st to 2nd, NEVER be pushing it toward the dash at the same time. Move it straight up then let it move toward the dash at the cross-over, ot else you will jam it up; you will be in 2 gears at once.

I have this exact car different color
