Vintage 1960'S Japanese TV LIGHTER 🔥 Restoration

Here is a new video !!
This is a vintage TV lighter made by the Japanese company Waco around 1960.
It was in very bad shape, some parts were broken or missing and had to be re-made.
The chrome was really pitted and as I couldn't do new one, I just polished it. It could have been better tho...

2 ingenious tricks in this restoration... Using heat shrink tubing to mask the wick from the primer and the mason jar sand tumbler. Absolute Genius! Excellent job!

I restored a 1940s lighter for a friend who was an antique dealer it was a pilot holding a propeller but when you moved his head the flame appeared. The body was cracked so it took a fair bit of time to rebuild him. Luckily after restoration it sold for a reasonable amount in just a few days.

When I saw the thumbnail for this video, I thought at first this was a Sony TV from the 1960’s. My dad won a TV way back when that looked very much like this lighter. Obviously, the lighter is modeled after that Sony TV. Excellent restoration!

It's funny how old products of long ago, works better than the newer products they have on the market today. I think the marketers of that era had a sense of pride in there craftsmanship. When i go shopping, i look for the quality in a product. Not buy today and throw in the garbage tomorrow. After all you are spending your hard earned money. Oh! I didn't realize how tiny it was from the thumbnail! I thought it was an old CRT TV with a built-in lighter somewhere... Which seemed kind of silly, but cars used to have built-in lighters, so it kind of made sense in a way? A TV-shaped lighter makes more sense hahaha. That's ok, I love restorations and tiny things, so this was a very good video.
