Impressive! Just read your description, too. I wonder if the original S-4090's color was technically "Orange Beech" like one of the two colors of the S-4078?

I wish I could have found hoover vacuum cleaner like that type!!!!! I like its old and classic design. I don't like anything nowdays beacuse they are so super moderns.

Eagle89 Eagle89 The orange one in my collection has a 1979 serial number and this cream version has a 1980 serial number. You may be thinking of the later model with no power take off and black tools - S4254

Do you know roughly what year the Freedoms started being released with the plastic beige attachments and dual pedal floor tool? (as opposed to metal rods and swivel floor head). My parents owned a yellow Freedom (long gone now) never took note of the serial number. I have never found the particular model anywhere online or in any vids. Am trying to date it (likely ‘79/‘80 I’m guessing)

Eagle89 Yes, it was 1980. All previous machines had the aluminium rods

Although it's worth noting that the flip over floor tool was replaced by dual pedal before the switch over to plastic rods
