Hi. I have an 83 GS850 L.. the shaft drive is rattling. Thought it was oil issue at the final drive.. but just noticed today that there's a play at the U-joint under the boot. It moves to the back when i push it.. and looked at it when spinning. It's goes backwards and the U jojnt touches the shaft housing walls..

Any idea why? And how to pull that shaft out.. Thanks for any help Cheers,

@Swakopmund Might be a bad ujoint at the boot, or the bolts came loose at the ujoint. Remove rear wheel by pulling out the axle. Unbolt rear differential from swing arm. Pull back boot to access the 4 bolts at the drive shaft ujoint, remove 4 bolts and shaft is free.
