One of your very best builds, Andy! Beautiful. Nothing like a Bianchi with that history, that colour and that groupset . . . who cares if Deltas don't stop you so well? They look fantastic. My only very slight disappointments are that you didn't stay with the Celeste green saddle and bar tape . . . and the chromed front forks. Whatever, I can totally understand why you're keeping this one, Andy . . . it's stunning and I hope you have many happy hours on it!

Delta brakes were never designed to 'stop' you... they're a racing brake designed to shave off speed. But set up correctly, they work great. I had a set for over 20 years and never an issue to stop. Most ppl don't know how to get them just right. Currently riding a celeste XR1... awesome bike! #celesteisbest

As you say Andy, "Brilliant!" That Bianchi is beautiful, it definitely is my favorite Italian bicycle, Colnago comes in second. Love the Bianchi color, proud to say I have 3, one of which is a Bianchi Reparto Corse TSX tubing. I have Delta brakes in a box, they are nice looking, however braking is not my favorite and switched them out for the reliable and positive C-Record calipers.

This is a beautiful build! Once again, MR did a really amazing job with the paintwork and your component selection is choice. I have a 1990 Bianchi Limited (Colombus Cromor, Shimano 105 7-speed SIS) that I bought new. Originally white, I had it refinished in December in the correct celeste...and kept the matching saddle and handlebar tape on! When I stopped on a ride last week a passing jogger pointed at the bicycle and shouted out: "That's beautiful!" And they are, so I wish you much joy with yours, Andy.

Really nice looking Bianchi. I have a 1995 Racing Department TSX UL, with the Super Set of tubing (downtube ovalized at the bottom bracket) Back then, I built the frameset up with an 8 speed Chorus drivetrain, except with an older Super Record front derailleur (with the black links). I never cared for Campy brake calipers because they lacked the fine tuning, when you used different wheels with different rims. I Committed heresy by using 7403 dual pivot Dura Ace calipers......I raced on it for 5 years before setting it aside for something new. A few years ago, I pulled it out and threw on some 9 speed Dura Ace 7700 components. I left on the Super Record front changer because it worked well with the indexed Shimano left shifter. It's my Sunday bike now. PS. I have a couple of those cages, but I found that water bottles will eventually wear the paint off of that Aluminum tubing. I replaced them with the same brand, with the same buttons, but in stainless steel.....PSS. I've always had trouble with breaking the rails on Rolls saddles, after 4 years. I've broken three of them, over the years. I now use the old S.I. Flite (1990 style) My frame is a 59, with a 14cm ITM Eclipse stem, with ITM 260 42cm bars.

Awesome, another great build, well done! Not a big fan of the Delta brakes, more show than go, or should I say stop but not a deal breaker. On all of my rebuilds, especially repaints, I apply PPF - paint protection film. I do a complete underside of the down tube, complete fork blades, and complete chainstays. This protects from the normal wear and tear of small chips and is easy and cheap protection.
@BikeItUK2 жыл бұрын

This is what cycling is all about! Such perfection of a build!! I have that exact stem and although I think its so good looking and stiff for a quill stem, that top cap cracks so easy screwing it in to the little insert, not to mention just pulling the screw out will just strip the insert and then you have to use pliers, THEN you can get to the stem bolt. It's kind of a pain. But it sure is beautiful :D

@@peterwotherspoon2203 Go back and rewatch... they weren't proper chrome, just had the paint stripped and polished. They look great now after being properly redone with the rest of the frame. The bike has been nicely modernised and mildly personalised to give pleasure both for riding and admiring...

@@johnmoruzzi7236 OK, fair enough. I would like to see a Mercian restoration as I own a Vincitore Special. Thanks

Another fantastic video, Andy! I love the upgrade to the brifters. I've done this as well on my personal bike. Thanks for putting yourself out there and please keep making videos! -Mike's Bikes Work

@@BikeItUK I don't have a KZbin channel. I rebuild vintage bikes and put them on my website and on Instagram. I'd go crazy if I had to edit videos. That's why I appreciate so much what you do.
