I can't believe how original everything is! I love the colors and just all the cool old stuff. That truck and camper go perfectly with each other.

my parents had a cabover camper nearly exactly like this! the apolstry, the flooring, color scheme, the lights - those are exactly what I remember being in ours. We moved cross country in it, there were a lot of core memories had with that camper. I hope this one went to a good home to make many more memories

Judging from the wear on the brake peddle your mileage is more than 26000. Because of its age and the practices at the time this truck was young depending on how many times this truck was sold from a used car lot the mileage could have been rolled back several times. It also may be that the people that owned the truck took extremely good care of it and the odometer has rolled over.

That brake pedal pad has a lot more than 26K miles on it.
@mattjones51757 жыл бұрын
Ahh, the gas pedal trick. That's a sure, tell-tale sign of 100,000 miles. Kinda like a 100,000 mile warranty on a rubber tire or maybe like a tire with a 50,000 mile warranty. Well, how many miles do you think it has on it? 126,000? I think there'd be a lot more evidence of wear and tear. The camper has stickers from 1973 & 1974. There are unused parts and manuals in the camper (oven & bathroom). Shifter shifts very well, like-new. The floor looks consistent with 26,000 miles. The steering wheel isn't all cracked like all of the other bumpside Fords. Have you ever seen an earlt 70's Ford F-series without a severely cracked steering wheel? Not me. What about the dealer tire warranty decal on the driver-side window! Yeah, those are usually fully intact with a 126,000 mile truck, right? But mine looks partially damaged so my truck must have 226,000 miles on it...give me a break.
@RippSnortin7 жыл бұрын
Someone probably replaced the brake pedal with a high mileage one I guess.
@jameswil76876 жыл бұрын
@@mattjones5175 I have a 1962 Ford truck that my Pawpaw only put 78,000 miles on. From his wife and daughter (my mom and Mawmaw) said he drove it a bunch from 1963 till about 1967 and after that mainly used the car. In 1975 till the 80's he drove it 15 miles each way to work and then started riding a motorcycle. He parked the truck in 1992 and quit driving it due to getting a truck with a lot better MPG. The pedals look like new but the steering wheel is all cracked up due to sun exposure. I'm sure your truck has a 126,000 miles from the wear I see on the pedals. The last owner/s just took really good care of it and and the camper and may have drove long distances to go camping. But who knows for sure though.

The thing about Ford's are that they are built for looks only. They wear out fast. Just get 'em off the line. Make them pretty enough to catch the eye, give short warranty's and move on to the next sucker.

Roll the windows down and drive at 55 or 60mph. In the camper, at night you open the windows and put a couple fans up pulling air from the open windows and aim them to you. During the day, open the windows and leave a fan on. But for the year this was made, times were different than today. People were more use to it. They wasn't inside under the A/C playing on the phone or on a video game. Besides you were either swimming, walking a trail, or in the shade during the day. I was born in 1997 and for most of my life, the only A/C we experienced was at a store or at school. Never had a problem due to heat because me and my family was use to it.
