Good ideas. I found using old glass jars for beads, ribbons and odds and ends keep everything clean and dust free. Now using paper shoe and document boxes to store card-stock and envelopes.

My mom passed in 2020 and I have her old sewing machine and cabinet I grew up using. It has a lot of partially used small wooden spools of thread in the drawers. I think I will get an old jar and fill it with her spools to remind me of her and how she helped me when I was learning to sew. I learned in home ec class in 8th grade. I made my school clothes all through high school. When I needed help she would show me what to do to make something smooth out etc. Thank you for the inspiration. Sarah, this is just so lovely! I have so many lidded glass jars of all sizes & vintage apothecary jars! I use them for pretty storage all over the house…from rolled washcloths in the guest bath to laundry tabs in the laundry room to pretty makeup in the master bath. But now I need MORE for your great ideas! And I have a whole craft ROOM…you inspire me to perhaps scale back so everything has some “breathing room”. Lol

I loved seeing this room and how you organized it. I have a craft/sewing room and it's so helpful to me. I can go there and easily find what I need. One thing that I made and is SO helpful is a framed peg board with the metal "hooks". It's large and I can hold a lot of things on that. Two areas that touched my heart were the Watkins bottle memory and the books about the Lord that you let others borrow. Those items tell me that you really do know what's important in life. It's great to think out side of the box when thrifting for craft storage items.

I keep my cards and stationery in my command center inside my front door, where the mail is coming in and going out. Gift tags, tissue, wrapping paper, gift bags and supplies for homemade cards are with my crafts. I find I remember to send cards or quick notes better when there at the command center.

What wonderful ideas! The ribbon on wooden spools is my favorite. I have smaller pieces from cardmaking that I hate to throw away - sometimes a little knot is a perfect finishing touch and you just need a bit for that. This way I will be able to easily see those little treasures ❤️🎶

I just love seeing vintage styled craft rooms! I started on mine probably 15 years ago. It looks horrible now but I’m still trying to work through it all. I drew inspiration from your wrapping paper container. I have 2 vintage rolling carts that i think will work much better than the ugly plastic tub I’m currently using.

Oh my! I need a room about 6 times as big. We recently removed the furniture from a guest room I wasn't using to make a craft room. We're getting close but it is already crowded.I am trying to make a cute room like yours but it's hard. I'm in a wheelchair so I can't hang things high. I found a basket that is narrow and long (like a window box) I filled it with jars of buttons. It is just the right size for on top of the dresser, but then I can't see the buttons. It's an average size room but I can only use the bottom half. I got an old wallpapering table that is great. some of my 2-3 drawer plastic cabinets fit underneath,. and I can set stuff at the back of the table and work at the front. My favorite thing you did (and I did wrong) is using the office supplies. I had a bunch of them and gave them all away. Mine were mostly plastic. I thought they were ugly and useless.Now I see many uses for them. I could have spray painted them to look better. I had all this stuff downstairs in a 900 square feet room. My "studio." Now with the wheelchair, I'm not allowed to go down there. There's still lots of good stuff down there. A long comment, sorry. I'm overwhelmed, so now you probably are too.

Where and how do you store furniture waxes, paints and paint brushes? I loved the glitter in the glass bottles! Y’all, I need help in storing some jewelry supplies, specifically beads. Currently, I have (20) 12x12x3.5” square bins where I store loose round beads, separated by color. Inside the bins, I sort the beads in paper 18ct egg carton(no lid). One tip, and I’m sorting beads. Ugh 😩 Any better ideas?

My painting supplies are all sorted in another space! I have a video all about that here: kzbin.info/www/bejne/fmjRmIueobephbM Could you maybe source some glass baby food jars and sort your beads into those jars (with their lids! *wink*) and still keep them inside your square bins? You might be able to find a lot of jars for free on neighborhood sites (Facebook marketplace, craigslist, Buy Nothing, etc...) I hope you find a solution that works, because re-sorting them again and again can't be fun!
