The Cyclops is based on Polyphemus, Son of Poseidon. He lived in a cave, and trapped Odysseus and his men in his cave at the start of the Odyssey. Odysseus blinded him to escape, angering Poseidon, who cursed them to wander lost on the sea for 10 years before finding their way home. He is a classical Greek caveman.🖤🇨🇦

When we lived in Westchester in the 80’s that idea that NYers don’t leave or know about anything about north of the Tappen Zee Bridge is true!!!! Funny!!!!!

Hi George, you opened that lunch box, and a scent memory came flooding back. Old bologna and rotting fruit. Those smells seemed to have permeated lunch boxes. 😂

I am really liking the black backdrop, and it is perfect for displaying glass that glows in black light. It provides no distractions from the pieces you are displaying. Having the white card on hand for darker pieces really makes them pop.🖤🇨🇦

I must say that this new black background is a good move. It looks good with George's skin tone and makes the details of the pieces look very rich.

When I was 35 and a freshman in college, I went to the construction site of the federal courthouse (where George Santos is being tried!) and walked steel with the construction workers. Took along my trusty Nikon F4 - the heaviest camera alive I think! Did a photo essay that ended up exhibited in two gallery shows. I would love to have room for a darkroom when I move - maybe a three bathroom house? I also did a photo session with my husband with an 8 by 10 plate camera. That was amazing. Felt like Ansel Adams. @@TheAntiqueNomad

I used to retouch negatives and prints by hand at Photo Arts Studio in Prince Rupert. It was a challenging and precise skill. With an exacto knife, fine brushes, and a tray each of grey variants and sepia pigments, along with a finely vibrating backlit work surface that had clips to hold negatives and prints. I suspect it is now a dead or dying skill set in the digital age.🖤🇨🇦

Such a loss. There is something so special about developing black and white prints. The chemistry, the timing, even using your hands to burn parts in and alter your image. In college I took a photography class. I had gone out to a construction site and gone up to the 9th floor with the construction workers on a tour. I took my trusty Nikon F4 and shot a roll of black and white. When I showed my teacher the proof sheet, there was one picture that didn't come out. He said I want you to go in the lab and print that picture out. I don't care how long a time you need to expose the paper or how much paper you waste - just do it - there is an image there and I think it's a great one. Turned out to be probably the best picture I ever took. Took hours and hours to get an amazing print. Worth every second. @@tamarrajames3590

My father was a master upholsterer and he used Hydrogen peroxide to clean fabrics. I use the modern product called chlorine free bleach which is basically an H2O2 solution. Test in an obscure area first for your piece..

It's a sad situation with Rita. Options seem to be running out at this point. Where do you go from here? I don't think putting Rita by herself to walk the fence line is fair to Rita nor is her being a bully to the other babies. Can you possibly bring in a trainer who's delt with this type of behavior? I can't help but feel there was more to her previous owner hitching Rita to your gate with a desperate note. I think they were having the same issues with her for whatever reason and ran out of options. Bless you and Jami for your unconditional love, i know after watching you two for awhile, this is not only frustrating but a failure for you. But its not and this is out of your control. Rita didn't come with ANY history or a manual. I support any decision you and Jami make. Please don't be to hard on yourselves. Love from Wisconsin ❤❤

Hi George and Xeno, so Darth Vader, shall live on. Thought you might find this interesting too... But now, at 91, Jones has decided to retire from the role. His iconic Darth Vader voice will live on through an artificial intelligence (A.I.) program that can learn his’ tones and inflections, Vanity Fair’s Anthony Breznican reports. Jones signed over the rights to his archival voice recordings to Respeecher, a Ukraine-based startup that is working with Lucasfilm to preserve and recreate the actor’s menacing voice using a proprietary A.I. algorithm. I really loved the Flintstones and the Jetsons! 😂 they were my favorite cartoons back in my youth. I would get up a little earlier to deliver those Weekend papers made heavier by the circulars of Weekend info an coupons that arrived on Thursday afternoons. 😊 Also 😮😮😮 the Fenton Vase, and I am using the fancy Vaaazzz pronunciation, the vase is currently at $598 with 4 more days. I think all of the .BIN items are sold. Several items are still underbid, or no bid. Interesting...

I remember a story Ingrid Bergman’s daughter told. She had taken her daughter to Disneyland, I believe. They were on one of those rides that have famous people in scenes. There was one with Ingrid (idk which) and Ingrid’s character was crying. The granddaughter asks her mom why grandma was crying. Ah! Kids!😂
