Links to some of the tools used in this restoration are below.
This is the second of three in my "Hand-Crank Series". This little contraption actually works pretty good once you get it back up and running. It had a broken wooden handle, which gave me my first excuse to re-create one on a lathe.
As always, thanks for watching and check out my other videos and subscribe!

Looks wonderful. Two suggestions: Show us the sandblasting and highlight the lettering with white paint. Very nice job!!!!! Love the powder coating!!!!!

Excellent restoration. I’ve thought about those little lathes more than once, but I’ve always wondered about how useful they are. It looks like for the very small jobs I do they’d be very useful.

I have seen folks take a paint pen and highlight the lettering. Really makes it stand out in pop. Just a suggestion. Keep up the good work

I almost bailed when you skipped the sandblasting. But, it turned out very nice. I love the red!

Great job on this project especially the handle recreation. I’ve been wondering what rust remover you use and the tool link answer my question.

You always appear to use the same stain color. Looks like ebony. Try a light color. I think the contrast will look better.

I am fully aware people get irritated when they can't watch the sandblasting. Unfortunately, the size and condition of my equipment right now makes clear filming of the process impossible. However, I am actively considering a larger blast cabinet. Thanks for all your support.

7:12......????? Please explain......... First, the steel rod slides through the hole, easily. Cutting a thread will only remove metal and widen the hole and thin the rod. Yet, at 16:25 it seems to work...........???!!! Technically, it should be loose. To the point of being useless..... But apparently it's not. Please explain. Great video, btw....!!!

The most annoying thing about all the restoration vids I have watched is the need to wear gloves. Are you afraid of a few little cuts or do you not possess the required the grip strength?

Gloves take attention away from the hands and on to the object, where it belongs. I appreciate you watching.

Some people like me who worked with food were required to have "clean" hands. NO staining allowed.
