Fact: Every time you do a vintage book video I have to pause half-a-dozen times to add titles to my shopping list... So many classic titles I used to own, I really miss the glory days of publishers like Zebra and Tor!

There's little as aesthetically pleasing as vintage horror book covers. If you haven't already, you should make a video showing your favourite book covers you own! I think that would be cool

4:36 I really, really wish publishers still did cool stuff like this :( Horror books (as in the physical objects) seem to be especially uninteresting nowadays when compared to the immense fun that used to come with just opening one up or taking in the details of the cover art. Thank you for immortalizing all these beautiful artifacts through your videos, Cameron!

I just bought some vintage horror books because of this channel 😂 It was so hard to find them, especially when I’m outside the US... I’m from the Philippines btw and I tell you it’s hard to be a bookworm here, especially if your genre is horror... Anyways... I’ve been looking for a booktuber who’s more into horror for years now. Luckily youtube recommended your videos to me. I feel at home watching your videos, I always feel at home when it’s all about books, horror, and movies. Keep it up 👍

God, I envy your library! It’s great that you’re preserving this category of writing and art; private collectors like yourself do the work that more mainstream/general archivists overlook. By the way, have you ever read Thomas Ligotti? He does more abstract/introspective/philosophical horror than vampires, killers, and the like, but he’s worth reading just because he’s so uniquely unsettling. His novella My Work Is Not Yet Done is one of my favourite horror fictions and I wrote the Wikipedia page for it years ago.
@LibraryMacabre3 жыл бұрын
Thank you! Gotta keep vintage horror alive. It’s definitely my category. :) I haven’t read his work, but it sounds very very interesting. I’ll look him up! Thanks!

I definitely would love to hang out in your library and talk about books and share ideas about books I've read, that's how I learn a lot, by others sharing their viewpoints and ideas about books they have read. Exchanging of knowledge back and forth. And Cameron, there is two ghost stories by John Saul you may be interested in reading. One of them is called "Comes the Blind Fury" about a Ghost girl for revenge. The next I'd recommend is "Nathaniel" about a ghost boy for revenge. Happy Winter Reading!!

Another tour and yet more books I never heard of before that I must hunt down. Thanks to you I bought Christmas Ghosts after watching this video. Always down for creepy Christmas stories! Speaking of which, are you familiar with Seth’s mini book series “A Ghost Story For Christmas” ? Really small adorable books from famous authors like Dickens and such. I think Seth release 3 books every Christmas? Some notables I didn’t see: Beneath Still Waters by Matthew Costello Child’s Play 2 and 3 novelizations by Matthew Costello Eden’s Eyes by Sean Costello The Cartoonist by Sean Costello Finally, on a random note, have you heard recently from Leon the Paperback Maniac? He hasn’t uploaded any content in like 6 months and I am a little worried about him. Hopefully he’s ok. You and Leon are the two best horror booktubers out there.
@LibraryMacabre3 жыл бұрын
Thank you so much for the lovely comment! I’m glad you could find some books you haven’t heard of before. That’s one thing I love about Leon’s channel. Awesome guy and great taste in books! I believe he’s doing okay, just busy as a teacher during the pandemic. Things are so weird for teachers right now, but I’m hoping he is able to come back soon. 🤞 I haven’t heard of those Christmas books before, but I am always on the lookout for more holiday reads. I am also hunting down all those other books listed but they’ve been a challenge to track down. Especially the Child’s Play novelizations. 😬 Thank you for watching!
