Hiii!! Letting you all know I solved the floating point issue that prevented you from moving lens kits away from (0,0,0)!! The answer was the new Blender 4.2 Ray Portal node. The new files are on Blender Market now, I hope you get a chance to try them out :)

These look incredible! Please do an anamorphic eventually!

WOW! I learnt that in physics class, somebody really renders that out!

I was just looking for someone, unsatisfied with the current optics and add-ons, who might have tried this solution. Looks like you did. Thank you and well done !

Theres some on the page for free! 105mm and 28mm, the 28 struggles the most of the group thats up because it had the most elements and heavy curvature but still gets results as long as it stays at the (0,0,0) coordinate!

For the Jactual lenses set, that is!

Dope rig! I like the animated rack focus examples a ton

Making these lenses is a lot of fun but I didn't enjoy messing with the ortographic camera-as-film-sensor. It's completely unintuitive to me why I need depth of field and why a shallow focus distance is necessary. I tried using a white diffuse plane as film and an ortographic camera to capture the image on the plane, that worked too and was more intuitive. I wonder if more efficiency can be had doing that.

So pretty. Do other optical effects pop up - flare?
@JackToth2 жыл бұрын
With enough samples, yes possible. But thats heavy computing. Ive gotten the inernal reflections showing on the Anamorphic sets, eventually flaring with Luxcore’s coayed glass material. Look at @jackimorphic on Twitter for more. I post results all the time with tinkering

Had to dig up the tweet but this shows some of the internal reflections on the anamorphic lenses, twitter.com/jackimorphic/status/1590896531091386368?s=20&t=cflM6pIOHpJhz934yF_A7Q

Buddy I think It's taxing on the system to do the optics in the render itself. There are ways of achieving the same helios 44-2 swirly bokeh in compositing using just the Z depth pass, which is fast a adjustable at any point after render. For experimental stuff this feels great. But for using this in work / or any other situations, fast method is preferred
