There are a surprising number of parts in these A-Team crossed with Transformers toys heh. Great job with the cleaning, imagine dirt friction created most of those scuffs, sand being the worst. I still keep looking at MASK but haven't yet jumped down that rabbit hole. ;)
@VintageToyRush Жыл бұрын
Yeah, some of the MASK vehicles I've tackled so far are full of parts and intricate mechanisms. That makes them fun to work on. Hurricane is relatively simple. It's a good line to jump into - and you can be selective as there's a lot of variety. But don't let me sway you 🤣

@@VintageToyRush totally understand, was just curious that's all. I'll be watching this video a few times as I have a very run done Hurricane to restore. On that point,I don't suppose you have any recommendations for restoring sun faded blue plastic? Thanks, and keep up the great work
@VintageToyRush5 ай бұрын
In this case, I simply used wet wipes for cleaning, and maybe a little lighter fluid for any stubborn marks (which I apply to the wet wipe). Now restoring sun faded plastic is tough - I can't give any specific advice but there are general plastic restorers out there for cars etc and possibly it could be recoloured (see Toy Polloi's video on Max Rebo) but I'm not sure if that'll work on the Hurricane plastic.

How did you clean the front and back chrome parts so nicely and restore their shine? Did you use soap and water or was it something more specific? Thanks.
@VintageToyRush4 ай бұрын
In this case I think it was just water (and wet wipes are good too). For chrome that's not recoverable I re-chrome with paint - I have a separate video where I test different paints 👍

What a great restoration video 👏 amazing job as always Dave… can I ask, would you ever lubricate the moving parts with a little petroleum jelly or silicone spray perhaps, or is this a big no no ? 😊
@VintageToyRush2 жыл бұрын
Thanks Rawzaf!! 🤘 I have used PTFE spray in the past when parts are sticking or squeaking. Just spray a little on then wipe off. I think it's ok if used sparingly. 👍

@VintageToyRush11 ай бұрын
Hey! Depends on what your cleaning, but always start with gentlest approach e.g. just water, maybe add some soap. Wet wipes are very good, so you can clean around stickers etc. For some stubborn marks you can apply a little lighter fluid but always test first 👍

Hey Greg, do you mean the head of the screw is stripped? You can try placing an elastic/rubber band on the head and push the screwdriver into the band. Should give some grip. Or using small drill bit, carefully drill into top of screw head, you might get some grip and reverse drill. Let me know how you get on? 👍
