This is the De Rossa Professional frame from 1984, armed with columbus SLX tubing, the best of the time. Which has been mounted with a Campagnolo Super Record groupset, mavic gp4 rims, 3ttt record stem, 3ttt competiozione handlebar, selle san marco concor profil saddle, regina CX-S 6v cassette (13-21) and electric blue benotto tape.
Talking about De Rosa is talking about quality, Ugo De Rosa is undoubtedly one of the best frame builders of all time. Not only did he supply many champions with his high-end bikes (Gianni Motta, Eddy Merckx and Francesco Moser, just to name a few), but he also built masterpieces that heavily influenced the cycling industry, just like De Rosa Professional from early eighties.

Este es el cuadro De Rossa Professional de 1984, armado con tuberia columbus SLX, lo mejor de la epoca. El cual a sido montado con un grupo Campagnolo Super Record, llantas mavic gp4, potencia 3ttt record, manillar 3ttt competiozione, sillín selle san marco concor profil, cassette regina CX-S 6v (13-21) y cinta benotto azul eléctrico.
Hablar de De Rosa es hablar de calidad, Ugo De Rosa es sin duda uno de los mejores constructores de cuadros de todos los tiempos. No solo suministró a muchos campeones sus bicicletas de alta gama (Gianni Motta, Eddy Merckx y Francesco Moser, solo por nombrar algunos), sino que también fabricó obras maestras que influyeron fuertemente en la industria del ciclismo, al igual que el De Rosa Professional de principios de los años ochenta.

I am so glad that there are people like you who love and restore these "old" treasures. It is a shame that so many dont know what they have at their garage, attic, wherever. A friend of mine literally saved a bike from the metal shredder in a last minute action. I was shocked because it was a Mid 80ies Bianchi in a beauitiful pearl white. What made me almost speechless and cry was the fact that the bike was in almost mint condition. What a shame. Glad it was saved. I tried it, unfortunately it is no my size but it rides beautifully. I still cant believe it was almost dumped.

You are absolutely right, there are many people who do not know what they have in their garages and it is a shame that they throw them into the garbage cans, luckily for me I have found many in those garbage cans and they have returned to the streets. They handle really great and I go with mine when I go out on my bike, whether it's mountain passes or to work. Thanks for your comment friend ; )

Back in 1976 got I enough money scraped together to buy the frame Eddy Merckx was ridding. A De Rosa. At the time I went to Talbot's Toyland in San Mateo Ca. at the suggestion of Peter Rich of Velo Sport in Berkeley. The person in Talbots told me that the frameset with a SR headset would cost $500.00 and would take about a year to get. Being 22 yo at the time I was to impatient to wait that long and there was also a rumor that at the time De Rosa couldn't export anything cause of trouble with local taxes so I went to Albert Eisentraut's frame building class and learned about how to construct a bike and rode the one I made for the next 6 years. But I still wanted a De Rosa. So finally in 2010 I got a Neo Primato frameset which I ride to this day. And it definitely answers the question. It's the rider not the bike.

Thank you so much for a great restoration and ensuring this classic lasts for many years. I have, fortunately, a gifted to me first edition Colnago Master in similar condition as your De Rosa with exact same Campy componentry. Am researching resto methods and yours tick all the boxes given the similarities- yay. Resto of the chrome will be a challenge. Having done some amateur restoration in the past I'm aware that there is likely many hours spent behind these scenes!!, restoring the gruppo et al. Again thanks heaps and will be referencing this vid many times I expect.

Awesome build. Wednesday I get to pick up a 1982 atala campione del mondo, know nothing of these bikes. Want to take it down and clean everything, new bearings and such. Want to use period correct stuff. Then ride the wheels off it. Lol

Muy buenas, preciosa y clásica bicicleta de los 80’s, montada como se hacia hace 40 años, engrasando roscas, sujetando rueda delantera con correa Alfredo Binda, aceitando camisas de freno y cambios, encintando manillar con cinta sin acolchar, de las antiguas, etc. Me he transportado en el tiempo, anda que no has visto montajes de estos artesanos, eh ? I have the same De Rosa from my father. The Blue version with the same chrome! Campagnolo parts. It's my favourite bike of all time! Need to find someone to restore it tho.

El piñón es un REGINA EXTRA-BX? Si es ese, por favor... que pedazo de piñón. Es indestructible! (edit: ahí leí toda la descripción, no es ese, jaja. Igual conocés este modelo también? para saber las diferencias nomás :) ) Tengo ese mismo! Lo que si, hacerle mantenimiento costó horrores!! Entre dos personas tuvimos que hacer contrafuerza con palancas con cadena (uno c/u) para que afloje la primera parte, casi nos sale un hernia!! jaja. Cuando cedió los dos saltamos de alegría, hacía 45 años que no se le realizaba mantenimiento... así que imagínate lo trabado que estaba. Verlo acá en el video me llenó de emoción, después de ese mantenimiento, siento que he realizado una graduación y sentir que finalmente que he ganado el derecho total sobre la bicicleta de ruta clásica de mi papá. Está contento de lo bonita que la he dejado :) Hermosa esa DE ROSA! Excelente video!! PD: Este modelo de piñón puede ser que casi no haga ruido del trinquete? Cada vez que la monto es como si fuera un ninja, jaja

Hola Carlos!!! No este es un regina cx-s. Este no hace nada de ruido, una vez queda libre la bicicleta. Pero el BX hace algo de ruido, lo puedes ver en este vídeo, kzbin.info/www/bejne/jKilZZSrra1mhsU ,ya que esta esta bicicleta si que lleva un bx nuevo. Un saludo y me alegra mucho ese mantenimiento. Es verdad que cuesta de hacer el mantenimiento, quitarlo y luego poner todas las bolas de los rodamientos es un arduo trabajo jejej Un saludo amigo y gracias por dejar tu comentario ; )

Hola muy bueno el cuadro derosa y los repuestos de la epoca en que usaron esos grupos yo use esos materiales. En cambio vi armar bicis de esa epoca 80 al 90 bicis con ejes blindados y cubetas central mas modernas que no existían para esa epoca.

Como estas vi tu respuesta y ya pregunte en un taller que reparan Marcos de carbon pero me cobran algonasi como 125 dolares americanos mas el envio de ida y vielta y por pintarlo todo de su color original Rojo y Blanco.perla otros 325 dolares y pues se me iso muy caro y pues me salio un marco Tarmac Elite SL2 que nunca lo usaron compraron la bicicleta completa y la desarmaron y solo les quedo el marco con su horquilla y tasas de horquilla y la potencia original de ella me.lo dieron en 450 dolares y pues me gusto es negro con partes de carbon expuesto y combinado con blanco (Saludos y bendicioens a y gracias c tomarte el tiempo en contestar Te lo agradesco de todo coeazon Cuidese y luego le escribo algo 🙏🤝

Hallo Freund. Verwenden Sie in diesem Fall das richtige am Tretlager, da die Lager abgedichtet sind, und verwenden Sie für den Steuersatz den von Campagnolo angegebenen Steuersatz. Vielleicht hätte ich mehr tun sollen. Vielen Dank für Ihren Kommentar ; )

@@dabrestauracion7404 te paso un tip, lo mejor para los cables es la vaselina sólida, especialmente para los cables de cambio, hay que ponerle poquito como si se tratase de grasa, quedan super suaves, el aceite que se usa para máquinas de coser es aceite liviano.

@@dabrestauracion7404 la vaselina sólida la venden en cualquier farmacia, droguería o comercio de productos químicos, al menos acá en Uruguay se la consigue en cualquiera de esos comercios, inclusive la venden en alguna ferretería ya que se usa también para lubricar las ventanas de aluminio, es algo super común. Lo mas común es comprarla en farmacias, pedila así "vaselina sólida". Saludos

Small gripe: what's up with the spoking on the front wheel? Isn't the valve stem supposed to be between parallel spokes? Also, what sew-ups are you running on that bike?

You are absolutely right, it was already repaired, I changed the direction of the spokes, I bought the wheel second-hand and when I mounted it I didn't realize it, when editing the video, that's when I noticed. Hola Mariano!!! Pues esta es mia, para montarla necesitas sobre 5 horas, por lo menos yo que tengo que grabar, asi quesobre 3,5 o 4h, seria lo normal. Que cobro depende de todo, el estado de la bicicleta, las piezas que haya que comprar, cada bicicleta es un mundo. Esta bicicleta la compre y su antiguo dueño la tenia montada en shimano duraace 8 v, por suerte tenia las piezas antiguas y me las doy también con la compra. Un saludo ; )

Como estas te platico algo en dias pasados al salir a rodar me pard en una tienda OXXO y sopas se callo mi bicicleta specialized Tarmac expert SL3 marco de carbono y se golpeo contra un tubo de contencion del estacionamiento se fisuro una caña de carga.mk pregunta crees que si la mando eeparar quede bien y confiable? Hola Raúl!!! No hay problema con las bicicletas de carbono, ya que si no es algo muy grande, se puede reparar sin problemas. @@dabrestauracion7404 my other question is would you know if all vintage DeRosa have a 27.2 seat post? On mine the seatpost(27.2) slides in with some resistance but when I tighten it down the "ears" touch. Now I've haven't had a problem with the seat post sliding even with extra weight on me but some people have told me the clamp "ears" shouldn't be touching. Some say if it works it doesn't need fixing, other people are saying i have wrong size that it should be 27.4 any thoughts? Thanks.
