Irish Spring soap bars work great for keeping rodents away as well. i cut the bars up and put them under my hood spread out to keep them away. Works great!

FOR RODENTS fill old aspirin or whatever bottle with cotton balls and add peppermint/spearmint essential oil. Can also be used in spray bottle to cover engine bay. 🥬🥬🥬🐭🐭🐭☠☠☠

Pro tip: When flying to LA, fly into Bob Hope rather than LAX. It's right in Burbank. So, even if you need to get an Uber, it's going to be a short drive. Plus, Bob Hope is super chill. And almost never crowded.

I do worry sometimes about mechanics you don't know upselling you on stuff you don't actually need done... I hope the swindling is kept to a minimum! Like when you go in for a fast oil change at a Jiffylube or something and they suddenly "find" an issue with your coolant. Like, why were they even looking there, that's not the oil.

Tip at LAX - walk to the in and out nearby and then call an Uber. The cost will drop significantly once you leave the airport!

Here's how I keep rodents out of my garage -- I use Irish spring soap bars. They say original works but I've used whatever was available. so next time you have to park Clementine maybe use 10 Irish spring bars throughout. Honestly, it really works -- they hate the smell.

Tip for LAX, take the free shuttle to the hotel closest to your hotel. Alamo rental car (free shuttle) has good prices, good cars, and they’re usually open 24hrs.

If you get Uber at LAX, just walk down out of the airport and prices are normal again. You can walk to one of the nearby hotels. I used to live right by that hotel and it would be like $15.

Remember the Zipper in Barre, Vermont. Well, we had a huge flood that almost took us all out. Most of Vermont was completely flooded but as the Governor says, "We are Vermont Strong and Tough" Our family was fortunate to be on the third floor. Take Care and stay cool.

I definitely remember that SNL skit with all the LA highways! it's funny because I kept going down there when my 4th sis lived down/attended UC Irvine so driving all those highways. And then when we visited again with my husband and kid to Palm Springs/Joshua Tree, that Bear Mountain all over the 210!!! hahahaha and then to get to Hacienda somewhere on the 405 ... GPS became my best friend again!

Hi guys, I've found in my travels when the engine is running really hot lower your windows and put the blower fan on hi select max heat / full defrost which will cool down engine temp..good luck 👍

It’s hot here in California. Come get her and head to the north coast. Bodega Bay, Mendocino, Caspar, Fort Bragg (go see glass beach first thing in the morning!), Westport, Avenue of the Giants (amazing drive through the redwoods)…. It’s gorgeous up there!

Despite my experience of RV life being limited to my honeymoon in my parents VW Microbus RV, I have been considering my own build. I think the future demands the vehicle has a mini split A/C which means decent Solar watts and as large and flat a roof as can be achieved. I was thinking of a "Luton" chassis which the US would probably call a Box van for about 1.2kw of PV panels with vents fitted to side or rear but Not blocking the roof space. How are you managing in the recent heat ?

We just had 7 new tires put on the Nightmare.... I feel your pain. Thank god the brakes are all still looking like new. The tire shop even had a hubcap to replace the one we lost! Y'all drive safe...

Bummer! But at least you'll have quite a while until you need to worry about tires again. And so happy your brakes are going strong! We hate having expensive problems, but we're always super relieved when we get them sorted before they turn into catastrophic problems 🙌

I use Enterprise and they've never canceled my reservation because i showed up late. They even have an arrangement where if they're closed, you can use National/Alamo.
