My husband died at the age of 35, 9 month after our wedding. Freak accident and I was completely unprepared for the grief. I appreciate and applaud you for talking about it. We as a society need to normalize it. It is the only thing we are guaranteed in this life-death. It’s something we ALL will experience and the more we can normalize the crazy rollercoaster ride grief is the better. I am so sorry for both of your losses. I feel ya . My Dad was born on Christmas day at 2:05 a.m. and died on Christmas day 2:40 am 65 years later . Hard to do but just can't cancel Christmas for the kids and dinner at the wife's family . Thing turned out ok by the next year and the Holidays were back to normal .

I just found my birth father in 2021 and met him on Father’s Day that year. I lost him on Dec 28th. Loss is hard. I’m sorry that you and Handsonwithbig4949 have lost one of your parents too. Huge hugs!

I still speak to my Mum everyday even though we lost her 2 years ago, take your time and deal with it at your own pace. People will mean well and tell you it gets better/easier etc but do things in your own time in your own way. Sometimes you want to cry 24/7 sometimes you feel absolutley empty and that’s normal. She will always be with you and talk to her out loud when your struggling it provided me comfort. Shoulders back bro, you got this ❤

I’m so sorry for the loss of your Moms. You are both in my thoughts and prayers. Losing one Mom is so very hard, losing both Moms in a year is truly heartbreaking. Thank you for being open with us. Life holds its challenges and heartbreaks for everyone in one form or another, your openness and your willingness to show vulnerability takes your channel to another level. You both are so creative and talented. Your channel is so fun to watch, don’t fear that allowing us to see the real life hurts will hinder your careers. Your honesty and your attitudes are inspiring. The way you are sharing your grief and showing that even in grief, we keep going. We can laugh and cry in the same day and it’s ok. As a Mom and Grandma I can tell you what I want most for my kids and grandkids is for them to be everything God intended them to be. That means get out there and live your life. Don’t let a day go by that you aren’t fulfilling your purpose. Let the tears flow when the waves of sadness come but also let the laughter roll whenever you can. Look for the joy in the small things. Be grateful and make the most of every opportunity you are given. That’s what I see in the two of you. You are showing others how to keep moving forward. How to not be paralyzed by your grief but how to live with it and walk through it. All of us are living an Endless Adventure, we don’t all share the amazing views and places that you do but we can enjoy the views and experiences you share with us and we can all gain encouragement from your attitudes and life experiences. Keep adventuring and we’ll keep watching and enjoying the ride! There’s nothing worse than losing mom. I’ve been there too. My mom was a big traveler too and with her death, I made travel a high priority. As well as staying close to my family! I believe in the afterlife and I just see my mom, her brother, relatives and friends that passed away all having a good time together. We are the ones that are having a hard time. Happy 2024 to you both. I also lost my dear dad in June 2023 after a short battle with bladder cancer and a misdiagnosis sadly. I'd just turned 40 a couple of weeks earlier, so it is particularly memorable and I'll keep his final ever birthday wishes text forever. The first Christmas without them is pretty tough. Mine was awful so I was really looking forward to January and the release from the pressure to be happy. Yes, it's coming to us all and it may be sooner than you expect. I lost my mum in May, after my dad passed away September before (72 hours after being diagnosed with acute leukemia)...followed by more relatives throughout the year. Y’all truly never have to apologize for being a “downer” or being emotional. For some reason 2023 was rough for so many people and a lot of losses around the holiday. I agree with Eric, grief really can feel so internal and facing your own mortality is a bit unreal. I’m sorry both of you have lost your moms, and with a hard road that led there. So sorry to here about Eric's mom, guys. 😢 Anja lost her dad to cancer a few years ago. I've also lost family members to cancer. This year, the day before Christmas, we lost our cat to cancer as well. I'm sure for many people, that seems like an outlandish comparison (and I'm obviously not trying to compare). I had that cat for 15 years. Through some of the best, and worst times of my life. As a traveler, we have rarely seen our friends and family...but personally seeing my little soul mate deteriorate day by day, was absolutely soul crushing. To us, she was our family. Cancer effing sucks. I often think about this kind of stuff as well. Being on the road, we're not always around for big life events. I always worry about things going terribly wrong, and not being able to make it home on time. The older we get, the more loss there is. The sad reality of getting older, I guess. Don't apologize for being real, and showing emotion. Sometimes life is sad, and sometimes it's morbid. I guess we've just got to do our best to balance out those sad parts of life, with the happy moments. I'm really glad you got to spend those last happy memories with your mother.

You never get over it, but you do continue to live life. The memories on earth will become more distant, but every day that passes you get closer to seeing them again.

Eric, I lost my father to pancreatic cancer when he was 72 and I was 33. He was diagnosed just before Christmas 1988. They gave him 3-6 months. He made it a little over five. It's a trail nobody wants to go down. But, too many do. You have my prayers and condolences.
