Sorry i missed it live today, just had a busy day. btw you can repair that wood armor by putting it in craft grid with more firewood. Almost all armors can be repaired by the materials they are made of. I don't think shields or improvized can, but most worn armors can be. Each time ya get hit, durability goes down. -doing solid walls on the coop won't stop the wild animal freak out when your character is near. Its a proximity thing until they are domesticated. Best bet there is following the advice to make runners and re-locate. water can be repaired by bucket work You asked about fav blocks, I like basalt bricks, combined with a light colored brick , or blue clay bricks. ( that might change come next update) , I also enjoy polished stones, claystone and limestone polished being some of my favs. Wood wise, Ebony and walnuts are my favs. I usually don't do shingles on my builds, but slate is decent if i do. Fruit tress will produce the second year, they have to go through a winter ( for temperate fruit trees) which makes em verniated , or able to produce fruits. Tropical trees don't need a cold spell, but they also seem to take a couple years to produce. Despawning baddies is 50 blocks away. ;) Iron blooms you have to knock slag off, then hammer into an ingot, then use the ingot to make the tools. helve hammers is an huge machine hammer powered by windmills. Windmills need lots of fats, and resin, and wood and linens. It's involved part. You can play without it, but helve hammer does help processing blooms and making plates. Seen ya made the black guard sword, that means you have class recipies turned off , wish i knew that before! we coulda had you a hunting sling early on, and tailored gambeson is one of the best armors in game. Finding bees, they can also be in the wood. if you are close to em, you will hear em, you can even see em buzzing around if look close enough. generally they spawn where rain is lower, and area is warmer, you might have to travel a good ways south to find bees. the person mentioned holes in the tree, that a mod called Primitive Survival, they probably didn't know the server they play on is modded. Bees seem to like oaks maples, and acacia the best. occasionally walnut. I've never found bees in pines myself. sorry for the post, i was typing away as i watched the progress. Great live stream!

Bees sound like gusty winds but it is directional, then i follow the direction and the closer you get the more it sounds like bees. i hope this helps with bees also HUD clock(mod) shows top left of your screen and can be added to current game that is one mod i love. shows the time, temperature, weather and temporal activity

Since you really like the animals: many animals are more likely to be female than male. This is because the offspring inherits the generation/domestication level from the mother, and the developers decided to make things a bit easier for player. When slaughtering animals, make sure that you have at least one female of the newest generation first! It’s not so important with the males, but you can loose in-game years of progress by killing the wrong animal. Also, if you want some advice on preserving foods since you were discussing it a bit: crocks aren’t the best way of preserving food past the early game, especially if you like to micromanage your nutrient levels. Being able to pick and choose the specific ingredients is more useful in that case than selecting from pre-cooked meals from months ago. Turnips and onions stay good for a very long time in a cellar, and can last you through the winter if you harvest enough. Turnip plants have short growth times and yield about 5 turnips per plant, I believe. Berries do not preserve well on their own, but pears and apples do for a few years. Honey also counts as fruit. Making jam and preserving it is one of the better uses for crocks. It can stay good for over a decade. Grain also stays good for a long time. However, if you ever have grain about to spoil, grind it into flour. I believe that resets the spoilage timer. Halite (salt) is important for meat and cheese. Cheese requires salt to make, but stays good for many years. It requires pickled vegetables (brined in a saltwater mixture). Meat, whether you intend to preserve it for winter or not, is good to cure in salt. Especially getting into animals, you’ll get a lot of meat, and it rots fast unless cooked and put in a crock or cured with salt. Like I said, brining vegetables is important for cheese, but most stay good for long enough that it’s mostly a waste of salt to brine them for preservation. But if you don’t have salt, both meat and milk can be acquired fresh in winter, especially with raising animals. But really, do what you enjoy! Crocks are a perfectly viable strategy, if you prefer it. And salt is a real PITA to find. Also, if the walls of advice ever get old, do just say! It’s no fun giving it if it just annoys you :) I’ll 100% agree that the piglets are one of the cutest things in the game. Almost worth being gored by the pigs to see. You’re doing a great job with your crops and animals!
