All three finishes were outstanding in there own right. I myself usually finish my tools in the "Conservation" style, although not very popular with the masses, I used my tools and simply want them clean and usable. Nice smooth contours and such makes me giddy. Glad to see Chuck doing his thing.

Scout crafter would call a guy like me a purest, but I usually go with the first one. I really like the blued finish though. That finish turned out so deep and rich. Especially when you brassed the thumb screw. The shiny painted version looked “pretty,” but I think it cheapens the tool. ( I look forward to all of your comments ). Anyway, great job on all 3. These videos get people buzzing for sure, all in good fun though.

I have to say, the bright shiny finish with the blue highlights (I would have gone for a cherry red, or maybe a lime green, but that’s just me) is the better ending. It would then end up in Only To Be Used By Me section of the workshop.

The nice thing about the mica + shellac is that there's so many colors to choose from!

I have a few of these wrenches that were my grandfather’s. I’m working on them and debating on how far I want to clean them up. I’m going with just a preservation because of my history with them. I’ve done a couple screwdrivers and a pliers and some layout tools; I didn’t video them but they are on my Instagram. Enjoying your work. The .357 shell casing screwdriver was way cool. I did similar with a tomahawk I modified and used a.500 AE shell on it😜

Thanks Rob! I found you on Instagram! Most of the old tools I clean up get the conservation treatment. I save the over-the-top transformations for KZbin!
