What I loved about growing up in the 1980s. Weeks before Christmas there were constant Christmas adverts wishing us a Merry Xmas, then on Christmas Day and the shops are shut ... holiday adverts ... and DFS sale starts Boxing Day (though ends Christmas Eve) 😊

There was something exciting about cutting out the coupon in the TV Times Christmas double issue, Málaga, Corsica... then ending up with three nights in Pontins.

Never went abroad as a kid as we couldn't afford it, but we went to Wales every July for a week to a caravan. Great memories. wasn't till i was 18 and working when I started travelling abroad 🎉

It took me a bit to understand the first ad because most of the US never needs a ferry, especially one for cars.
