Here's a real throwback for you all. A 1954 Whirlpool Imperial washer. I found this machine by mistake while on Automaticwasher.org. I had randomly checked in on the website not knowing anything about washers. This machine was on the Ebay watch page, so I clicked on the link and it turned out this machine (along with a 1956 Whirlpool gas dryer) were in Freeport, IL. 30 minutes from where I lived at the time.
I contacted the seller and went to go look at them. I fell in love with both machines. Both auctions remained on ebay and I put a bid on the washer- I won! Wahoo!! I contacted the seller and arranged to pick up the washer and bought the dryer as well. The rest is history as I've fallen in love with vintage washers.
When I first tested this machine I had it rigged to run in the garage at my home in Illinois. Shortly after, we packed up and moved to North Carolina. This machine went into storage until we bought the house in 2018. It sat with the glass back panel on a shelf and the top to the machine stored away.
With all of this going on, I've been tinkering around the house and with my collections. This machine was in pieces and I put them in a box and couldn't remember where on earth they went. We left Illinois in a haste and I didn't remember leaving anything anywhere. So with tinkering around I discovered a box with all the missing pieces to this machine! It immediately sent me into I want to get this thing running mode and I have been tinkering with it ever since.
There are a few things that I need to finish before I do videos and run the machine as wanted. But I wanted to give a tour of the machine since my last video didn't really show much of it running, of course the tub light is out and I need to locate and ozone bulb. So, here she is back together for your entertainment. I can't wait to slot this machine in service and film videos of it. Thank you all for watching and reading my crazy long story about this machine.
