Thanks. Sunny is working well. I would like to pick your brain about something. I set up the carb and the car is running really nice. However in the morning the first start I have to try a few times before it starts. Then after that and one it has heated up it’s starts right up as soon as I turn the keys 🔑. It been happening ever since I swapped the leaver return spring. With the other spring it tends to start right up. But then it tends to stay high on idle.

Heather did a fine job, and Slade was very patient, too. Great job, both of you. But, she was wearing new boots! Well, if she does concrete, ponds and stuff, they'll get dirty soon enough! If you go with the new complete beam assembly, please take a minute to describe how you would do it with the original pieces. For example, how would you do the ball joints? Would those bushings have to be done at a shop, or ??? Thanks for a very informative video; great detail and explanation as usual!!

You didn't have to bribe Heather!?!? It was nice seeing you guys work together. I've never worried about zip tying the torsion leaves because they will all align correctly by the grub screw hole. Not sure if the new beams come with the steering box stop adjuster. Make sure you photograph yours and remove it just in case. On all of my lowered cars I have never run a narrowed beam. With the right tires and wheels you can avoid rubbing. But, the narrow beam will give you more options. Can you get sway bars for narrowed beams?

Hi Dave!! I like keeping them bundled when possible!! I ran drop spindles on my last one, standard….and 145s. Wasn’t crazy about the small tires, so figured narrowed beam. Great video Slades and once again you, better yet this time Heather, make it look easy. She is a good addition to your garage. One question Slades, in a narrowed beam do you also need a change in shocks? I mean the stock VW Beetle shock comes with a plastic ribbed sleeve. Will the diameter of the plastic sleeve fit in the narrowed beam space or do you need to change into a more narrow profiled shock? Keep these great videos coming. Great fun and we learn small, but critical, points and hints in the process.
