I had never thought about that safety issue. Thank you for teaching us.

Nice video! I've gotten oddball readings from coils on occasion (read: unable to reliably duplicate) when I still have them attached to the engine. In my past life on component level testing and repairs, I learnt to remove the component from the circuit before testing. I think that spilled over to my small engine repairs. Do you ever add any top end lube when turning the engine over with a power tool?

Very good call for adding oil, I just didn’t want it to splash around everywhere, I believe it still draws in fuel without the plug as the vacuum is below the rings? Not sure! I take coils off the engine when I do points ignition as the capacitor can mess with you :) thanks for sharing and lovely chatting earlier!

Having the spark not come back immediately is odd for sure. I thought about the circuit for a while, and heat seemed to be the only factor... but it's not hot.

Haha I think you missed the part of the video where I figure it out 😂

@@VintageEngineRepairs No, I was just thinking out loud. I have seen hot ones do that every now and then, where they work again after cooling but there is a bit of time where they won't run.

It’s an Oppama PET 2100-DXR. It’s stupidly expensive and not necessary, you can get a cheaper just as good one!
