This is video is WHY having a coach is valuable. Our bodies naturally gravitate towards finding efficiency in a movement (Getting A to B) not about mindfully calling upon and recruiting the complete available mechanics of a muscle group. (This is true all the way down to muscle fibers) We become 'blind' to this because we are 'used' to doing things a certain way and in our mind trying our best. A good Coach introduces new nuances and techniques to bring full development. Can't wait till the Arnold!

Yeah, I think a lot of us focus on the quads when doing squats or hack squats. That's why I think Nordic curls on the GHR (or D) machine are so helpful. If done properly, they take the focus away from the quads and place them on the hamstrings and glutes.

1. i just suggest using flat shoes or barefoot workouts. You always wear those shoes. and the way your legs look related to how you step on the ground how you feel the ground. 2. Your feet look outside when you are standing. So if you use adductor machine before starting the big movements you will benefit a lot. Specially for your quad sweeps and for your joints as well.

Relatively simple (easier said then done I know). Wesley has the best opportunity to hold the Classic Title for a long time given his upper body, but it's the thighs and calves that are holding him back. At the very least if he came in in with much better quads, it would be game over.

With all due respect, the discussion about the physiques in Classic is not really objective, as it claims to be. Wesley has a few more weak points than the ones mentioned, like the waist and abs structure, which is not something that can be trained or worked on.

Have you tried doing legs without shoes? Training legs without shoes improves stability, balance, and biomechanics by allowing direct contact with the ground, strengthening foot muscles, and promoting natural alignment during lifts. It also enhances ankle mobility, proprioception, and overall muscle engagement, making movements more functional and effective.

So you CAN focus on the quad with any foot placement but not all foot placements are optimal for Quad targeting. Pressing high in any leg press or Hack isn’t optimal for your quads because you’ll never full stretch the quad. We all know training a muscle in its lengthened, mid and short range (Full range of motion) is the best to optimally target/grow any muscle. Your feet HAVE TO be mid way or lower on a platform to get full knee flexion and to get "Ham to calf" which is a fully stretched quad. Foot placement, if not more important, is just as important as focusing (mind muscle connection). You'll never fully stretch your quad with your feet high on the platform. It's not Physically possible for anyone. You can't touch your Ham with your calf if you cannot flex your knee.. and you cannot fully flex your knee if your feet are high on a platform.
@InSlobnia22 сағат бұрын
It’d be like doing a half rep, you’re leaving the whole stretch phase of the rep out..

its very difficult to rationalize what happened to you at the Olympia. Sure, you can try to explain in hindsight what may happened, but you can't go around a simple fact: - you were the reigning Arnold champ, there is no "overlooking" that. nobody can convince me the judges "had a hard time with so many competitors", they know the big names in the lineup. they purposefully avoided a comparison between the 2 champs (Arnold/Olympia)...thats not a "mistake". if something like this happens usually its better NOT to rationalize it because there is no sound explanation. All you can do is continue to work and hope that it will be an isolated incident. if start chasing bad judging calls...you will always be off.

Worst advice ever. The judges decision is your measure of success, to not analyse and understand the rationale is foolish if you are focused on improving in their eyes.
