What I loved about this RSD video was that you all chatted randomly. Not another list read. Fun stuff. I think RSD is great. Some are better than others, and there is always some crap, but someone out there likes those chitty releases too. I think the Ronstadt box will do well since the Emilylou Harris and Randy Newman sets did pretty well on past RSDs, and their records are plentifully used. Enjoy !!

I wish we would do more like this, but at the same time my pet peeve is when people talk over each other. Makes me crazy. I need to get over that 😂😂

Great livestream! You are doing an excellent job filtering what to really watch for on RSD. Every time a list comes out, as a shop owner, I literally read every description over the course of a few hours to familiarize myself with the details before I even start thinking about placing orders. Many times, there are little things that one might miss (like the fact that Natalie Merchant isn't actually on that 10,000 Maniacs record...where IS their MTV Unplugged anyhow??). It's really important to be well-informed and clear about what makes a record special. I like all of your picks and will be picking up some of the same ones like the OMD and the Bowie. I'm a little surprised nobody said Sparks as that is a pretty sweet electropop album from them with Giorgio Moroder producing that restored their popularity in the UK, and it includes a bonus album from Noel, a female artist Ron and Russell wrote and recorded for her at the same time around 1979. The extended Fun Boy Three mixes (RIP Terry Hall) and extended Soft Cell versions of Non-Stop Erotic Cabaret using the original music stems by synth maestro Dave Ball are also very desirable to me. I really just hoped the US list included my #1 pick of the year, but sadly, the David Sylvian and Nine Horses album "Snow Borne Sorrow" is a UK only release. That is David's last super-melodic and somewhat conventional ambient jazz-pop album he has made. It's quite fantastic. Good luck and have a great RSD24 guys!

I would love to get that David Sylvain

Great talk! I think this overall is the best RSD list that I have seen in terms of solid stuff coming out that can interest just about anyone. I know I am looking forward to it and to what everyone picks up and finds. To me, the line waiting is half the fun of the entire event.

Love the video guys, I've watched enough of these to know each of your tastes and which recommendations may be of interest to me. Thanks! The last record store day Mike's day after video sent me back to the store after RSD for Chico Hamilton's The Master, and for that I'm forever grateful. The Olivia Rodrigo/Noah Kahan single is going to be the big one this year. I was on line last year with some Olivia fans and they are as fanatical as Taylor fans. Here's the counter point on the Linda Rondstadt box. I'm done with buying from dollar bins, the covers are usually beat up, and the vinyl is rarely in good condition. I've bought many of these, only to donate them to a local thrift shop later b/c there in such bad shape. These albums were also pressed during the gas crisis, when vinyl was not the same standard as today. I'll be picking this one up.

Awesome!! Nicely done! I’ll probably do it on my own channel as it might be a 10 hour video for the Gunkles to do 🤣

I’m not really excited for much on the US list. Probably will get the Cure, maybe Electrafixion, Filter, Mighty Lemon Drops, OMD, I wish they would have The Other Two full album, but I am excited to get the single. Maybe Siouxsie.

For Record Store Day, check out “The Bodysnatchers” EP on RidingEasy Records. Remastered from the band’s 1978 release. Austin’s first recorded punk band. Great songs, powerful sound. Recorded and mixed live to 2tk analog tape at Pecan St. Studios.

I find it interesting how us long time record collectors recoil from picture discs. Is this due to early picture disc technology being so poor? Haven't picture discs improved in sound quality? Or is it we feel silly listening music on a picture disc? As if serious music listeners would never be caught dead listening to a picture disc? I regret that I didn't pick up all the Cure RSD picture discs. The Blur picture disc LP is tempting. I guess RSD is all about FOMO. LOL They really market these records so well. I have about six records on my list right now, but I might reduce to four. Ha! Thanks Guncles!
