Thanks for the Video! I was going to use Tapcon anchors but I had read some reports of the heads snapping off. That's the last headache I need. Now I've switched to these wedge anchors after watching your video. I'll find another way to mess the project up, like cutting the composite railings short, but at least I'll have good anchors !!

The bracket for my top rail has a screw hole pattern that is outside the inner steel post. are the sleeve inserts strong enough if the bracket doesn't bolt into the middle steel post?

How far down did you drill for the 2 1/4 wedge anchors? Not sure if you are supposed to go slightly deeper than the anchor length.
@Chrdiy6 жыл бұрын
Joleen Barker I always drill the actual length if it's 2 and 1/4 I'll drill 2 and 1/4 quarter but they'll be about a half inch to three quarter above grade after installing. And yes you're correct throwing a little bit deeper is always a good idea

I need this for a very unstable and very heavy woman who needs it to get up my stairs. Will this hold over 300 lbs?
@Chrdiy9 жыл бұрын
I would use inbedded solid iron rails core drilled and set in hydrolic cement. The surface mounted post will stress the concrete anchors over time with excessive pulling thus weakening the concrete anchor set bolts over time causing the anchors to become loose

rail are basic end fasteners and cut rails to length...real simple
