Thank you VERY MUCH for the shoutout, so glad you found that Coltrane and hope the copy works out for you! I always like to ask sellers to ship used records outside the jacket just to be safe. Nice Bluesville as well - I am always keeping an eye out for those nowadays

Hey dude, you’re very welcome! Just tryna give some notice to some people who deserve it. But thank you! I love that Coltrane album so much, so thank you for reminding me how much I love it! Lol. But I need to start doing that. Not sure why I wasn’t before. But definitely gotta keep the eyes peeled for Bluesville! Although, I tend to believe that those kinda blues records are harder to find than good jazz is most of the time. But hey, never know what can pop up around ya! Cheers man!

You say Savoy correctly !! I had dinner with Kim ( Simmons ).. in the 1990's and he corrected me ! He understands that most Americans Americanize the pronunciation. Cool ! Now I know what you are into. . great jazz titles, Funk, soul, blues.. Soul Funk Jazz, all of the above ! Bryter Layter has never been my favorite, but it's still an amazing Nick Drake album !

Very interesting to learn I say it right! lol. That’s cool, and awesome you had dinner with Kim! I bet that was a great time. But definitely into all of those genres! Into anything that’s good, doesn’t matter who it’s by! Bryter Later is a great one though but I’m still a bigger fan of Pink Moon. Cheers JT!

Hi Trent nice video as usual. I am not a huge jazz fan but there is one record I love, it is Chico Hamilton "The Master" . This record is wonderful because Lowell George the founder of Little Feat plays an amazing slide guitar on it. A very nice crossover. A very peaceful, inspired and chilling record. Thierry

Hi Thierry, I’m actually not familiar with “The Master,” but I am familiar with Lowell George of course! I’ll have to give that one a listen. Sounds pretty interesting and cool! If you’re not familiar with the album “The Dealer” by Chico you should check that one out! It’s supposedly Larry Coryell’s first recording appearance and it’s a great album. Cheers!

Thanks for the shoutout man! And congrats on 500 subs. You deserve way more, everything you show is killer. Defrosted has been in my wantlist for a while, the acid soaked guitar on the first album is amazing. Nice find in that Savoy Brown, I saw it once at a record show but it was way too much. I love Nick Drake, I think five leaves left is my favorite of his. Lee Morgan Sidewinder is one of the albums at the top of my jazz wantlist, super cool find. Thanks for the shoutout man! I just got some new records this week, but not really enough to make a video so I might hold off until I find some more. Congrats again on 500, looking forward to the next video. ✌️ ☮️

Hey man, you’re very welcome! You definitely deserve it. Love watching your videos man! You’ve got great taste in psych and funk. Defrosted is definitely a cool album. I like it just as much as their first album. Actually saw another copy in the same collection as the Savoy Brown that I got. Both were in the shrink! Nick Drake’s great though. He’s finally gotten/getting his due for his great albums. The Sidewinder is a classic though. I honestly believe it’s essential jazz listening just like Kind Of Blue and A Love Supreme. Lee Morgan’s the man. Check out his last studio album that’s s/t. Killer stuff! But lookin forward to whenever you do make another video man! And thank you, cheers Sorin!

@@trentsrecords Thanks man! That means a lot. I agree with you that Lee Morgan is essential. I've been trying to expand my jazz collection, but I feel like I have trouble finding jazz records and all of the classic jazz albums go for 100+ dollars. Dude, another great video, but first, I applaud you for shouting out other channels. It's nice to see a VC channel showing some humanity to others - so even though you always take time to thank the viewers, it's time to THANK YOU brother. So OK, the first Decca of 'Savoy Brown Blues Band', now that's a grail to have in such good condition! WOW, you have a minty copy of 'Bryter Layter' - would kill for that, I only have a CD version (sacrilege I know!) 'Cast Your Fate...' is superb, a late night listen & relax. Ha, agree about the 'Coltrane' album, personally I think it surpasses 'A Love Supreme', that's just me... As usual, many albums for me to track down now, you've created more work for my wallet dang it! Stay well mate :)

Got the Nick Drake at the same shop a couple days earlier too! The s/t Coltrane is so so soooo good. I’m happy you think so too! Such a damn good album and I just cannot believe it doesn’t get as much love as A Love Supreme. Baffles me to be honest. Thank you again my man! I hope you’re doing well and keeping safe, cheers!

I searched eBay for "LP" one Saturday afternoon and came across a NIKE DRAKE LP - that's what the listing said, misspelling and all. Under the description it read: NIKE DRAKE LP. It had about 45 minutes left. I shot the seller a message asking if it was scratched up or whatever but I didn't hear back from him until the next morning (after i bought it). He sent me a message that said he doesn't sell records with any damage. A few days later I had my own 1st US pressing of Bryter Layter on Antilles in NM+/M- condition (cover has a bit of ring wear but not bad) $9.99 and I think shipping was $4 - and this was before eBay was adding tax by state. It was one of three (if I remember correctly) sweet records I got that day. Pro tip: Nobody record shops online on Saturday afternoons. UK pressing would be sweet. Enjoy it. Also, I own a number of Promo copies that were purchased still sealed and they have "regular" labels.

Wow that’s such an awesome story!! $15 total?! That’s insane! Nice job!! But I have too, just wasn’t sure with the certain record labels I got the promos of if they put it on their labels or not, but guess it doesn’t matter because I think they’re cool regardless!

SorinVinyl is a channel I just discovered last week. He shows some very cool psych and classic rock. I subbed him immediately. Cool of you to shout his channel out. Frigid Pink Defrosted is one I bought a few years ago. The jacket was in good shape, however the vinyl had groove wear so I purged it. Currently on the hunt for a copy. Savoy Brown’s output until the mid seventies is really good. I lose interest as we approach the latter part of the decade. Very cool to have a clean DECCA copy. ‘Looking In’ is indeed a great record of theirs. Haven’t seen any Nick Drake in the wild yet. I was told by the owner of a local shop I frequent, that an original UK Pink Moon come in the store one day. The guy was on the hunt for a new turntable and the owner of the store handed him a brand new Project Debut Carbon turntable and some cash for the Drake. It was posted and sold online for a pretty penny. I just followed you on Instagram. I just started posting on there (late to the Instagram party). I look forward to seeing what you show on there as well.

Sorin is a great guy! I really enjoy his channel and seeing what he’s picked up, always some interesting stuff and stuff I look at and go, “damn I wish I had that!” Lol. But it’s a hard one to find clean! I actually saw a very very clean copy the same day I got the Savoy Brown, but that most definitely took precedence. Couldn’t believe it! I’m a big fan of their debut and the album Looking In, but haven’t really found too much else I’m super fond of. I’ve actually seen a later US pressing of Pink Moon before and didn’t grab it for some reason…one of my biggest regrets. Besides that the copy of Bryter Layter I got is the only other I’ve seen in a local shop around here. What a crazy story though! Haha. I think I’d probably do that trade as well. That’d be awesome. Followed ya back though! Looking forward to seeing some more posts. Cheers man!

Frijid pink!!!!! I don’t have that one, I have their first which has a killer cover of ‘house of the rising sun’ and I also have ‘Earth Omen’ that is my favourite album by Frijid Pink. Soooo jealous of your Anne Peebles record, never seen them out in the wild. With your promo stickers, it is hard to really say. Some label companies are so quick to get them out to radio stations and djs that they just put on a sticker and send them out. In my last video there was just a stamp pressing on the corner I could barely see it. But others go all out and put a whole strip on the cover and put it in the label also. I think they are all promos but some label companies take it more seriously than others. Another great video 👍

Hey Martin! Frijid Pink’s first album is also really great! I agree that their cover of “house of the riding sun” is stellar! But I got super lucky with the Ann Peebles! My friend grabbed it for me and held onto it and I’m so thankful he did. Has been on my wantlist for years! Only time I’ve ever come across it too. But I’d have to probably agree with you that some companies made their promos more dolled up than others. I’ve found lots of promos with just the stickers on them and then I’ve also found white label promos with the timing strips and everything so who knows! Cheers Martin, hope you’re keeping well my friend!
