Congratulations on the Alice Cooper pickup with the Billion Dollar Bill included. I didn’t realize they were hard to come by. My copy came with it and the perforated playing cards which weren’t punched out. Interesting that the liner notes/credits are located behind the playing cards, therefore the only way to read them is to remove the cards. I just saw that Grateful Dead Lp at a local flea market shop. I didn’t pick it up but they did have an Australian Grateful Dead bootleg called “A Swell Dance Concert”. Ever heard of it? I haven’t listened to it yet so I’m not sure of the sound quality, but I couldn’t leave it behind. I believe it to be a New Years Eve live performance. It was priced well and clean. No brainer! J.J. Cale is fantastic. Every record I own of his is great. I need to bring that record back into my collection. Had to let it go because it didn’t play well. It’s common enough, so I’ll hold out for a clean copy. I think the reason you love Althea off that Dead record is because it has J.J. Cale vibes ;) I may just have to go back for that record at the flea market. Didn’t realize the Speed, Glue & Shinki was reissued for RSD. I’ll have to snag a copy. Great record. Lots of great pickups this round. Great stuff. Keep em’ coming!

It might be easier for some people to come by it but it took me forever to find one with the dollar bill! Was super stoked when I found it, but do wish it was a first pressing. Super cool that you found it pretty easily! But I haven’t heard that boot but certainly sounds interesting! I’ll have to for sure look it up. But man, JJ is so good. Just so effortless yet so great and natural, no pun intended lol. But I never thought about Althea being in the same vein as JJ…but I can definitely see that being the case. But yup! Was just released this past RSD, but if you can’t find a copy in person I know they’re still at msrp online too! Cheers man!

So so rad. Never tire of that song, but are you looking for an original press? If so, I wish you all the vinyl luck and good tidings. Would be really awesome to get a copy though!

@@trentsrecords I’d take any press I can get but like you I prefer the original pressings :) I could likely overpay on eBay but I’m gonna hold out for a wild copy. By the way love your videos, very similar taste as me. In Victoria not far from ya.

@@gratefuldude5665 hahaha very fair! but original pressings are just so much fun, and always a lot longer of a hunt which is fun yet frustrating. But thank you very much! I appreciate that a lot, and we’re practically neighbors! Even better. Please have a large double double for me!

Hey Trent, killer pick ups ! Gota find me a clean copy of Zep 1. FYI, that dollar bill in the Cooper album is a 1 billion dollar bill. Lol. Peace!

Thanks Michael! But you’re right! Hahaha. I now have 1 billion dollars (Dr. Evil laugh). But very happy I finally found one! I love the goodies that come with original/vintage pressings so much haha. Cheers man!

Great job my man, all good regardless of genre. I just saw Alice Cooper in April blew me away I filmed the entire concert. Ace Frehley opened for Alice.
@trentsrecords2 жыл бұрын
Thanks man! Alice is great, think I said it in the video but don’t remember, but he was my first concert and that left a great impression on me. Super cool that Ace opened for him! He was my favorite guitarist when I was a kid, well him and Angus. Cheers man!

Another amazing collection of finds. That KISS record hold up today. My copy of Purple Rain is missing the poster. Damn. He was truly an incredible guitarist. I also think that Computer Blue doesn't get the attention it deserves, because it is overshadowed by the other tracks. But, it's my fav track from this record.
@trentsrecords2 жыл бұрын
I agree Brian! I think that Kiss album more so than any of their others has held up over time. But I’m always on the hunt for albums I want but especially if they have a poster as well, so was very happy to get that one into my collection. Sort of a mini LP poster collection going on haha. Computer Blue is a great song though! Cheers Brian, take care!

Sweet sweet pickups, Trent! Glad to see you picked up that Shinki reissue. I did too. That was the first thing I grabbed on RSD when I walked into the store. I was a little surprised that record was not talked about more - originals are in the thousands and that's a first ever reissue - what gives? Really happy you found that Zeppelin record. I have an original US on plum/orange and it sounds amazing. And yeah Gabor is awesome. I am still looking for an original Dreams on Skye in pristine condition - have seen many copies over the years that were either VG-ish or too pricey. Strongly recommend it if you like Gabor (though I'm sure you know it but if someone does not - it's awesome). ...Althea?
@trentsrecords2 жыл бұрын
Thanks Ilya! But was surprised too... a great bluesy acidy rock album and I just totally forgot, thought I’d be helpless but got lucky finding a copy! The originals are so mythological, would love to be able just to even see and hold one hahaha. But I’m happy about finding it too! It sounds so much better than the 77 US reissue, almost didn’t grab it but the guys at the shop gave me a little discount so I couldn’t turn it down. I am also looking for a copy of Dreams though, have seen a couple copies pop up but same situation as yourself. Either too pricey or condition just wasn’t there, and for the kind of album it is definitely need a superb copy. But yup! Althea is one of my all time favorite Dead songs, never get tired of it and means a lot to me. Cheers Ilya!

Hey Trent great pick ups. Led Zep, for some reason I am missing number three and physical graffiti. I loaned my brother in law a crate of albums to listen to when I was traveling. 🤨 he doesn’t know. Oh well one day.

Hey John, thank you! But man…that is a bummer. I hope you’re able to track those down! I only have a reissue of 3 right now…but as with many things am always on the lookout for either a superb US press or an import. Hopefully you’re able to get those back into your possession soon! Take care John

Great video. Awesome pickups. Less jazz than usual :) Naturally seems to be going up in price every time I see it (which isn’t often). I still need to get that one. Which pressing do you recommend.
@trentsrecords2 жыл бұрын
Hey Patrick! Thank you, but yes, less jazz this time hahah. I haven’t been finding too much recently howeverrrr I did find some good deals online and they’re still on their way…but I’d recommend getting as close to a first as possible. I only have experience with the 2nd pressing and this Holland press, but the 2nd sounds really really good! Cheers Patrick!

Interesting how the pressings can sound so different, obviously it depends on the tapes and who is doing it. I always wonder if my ears could pick up the differences. There are so many reissues happening which is nice as too many bands just can’t be found or if they are you need a bank loan. Nigerian pressing would be cool. That’s was a stack of albums for sure.
@trentsrecords2 жыл бұрын
Hey Steve, I actually hadn’t listened to Zep 1 in quite some time so at first I couldn’t distinguish the difference, but then I decided to put on my 77 reissue and it sounded so distant and muddy and I was like wow this is a very noticeable difference. Sometimes I can’t tell a difference between pressings, but in this case I could. But I agree. Sadly my ears really happen to enjoy a lot of the rarer things out there, which is nice for music exploration, but horrible for my collection haha. But thought that Nigerian Bob pressing was quite cool, and had a hard time passing it up hahah. Cheers Steve! Gonna be watching your video later when I’m off work
