Pre-PostPunk PostPunk. I explained to my kids it’s art school punk with 3 of the 4 members being art school grads and it shows. Definitely in the top 5 of my top 10 debut albums. For myself, Wire’s Pink Flag and The Crack from theRuts, we’re truly life changing albums.

One of my favourite albums ever. And Harvest was E.M.I.'s progressive rock side label and was UK based. The original British version of this album and the copy I bought in Australia back in the day were both on Harvest. Funny thing, when the Sex Pistols signed to E.M.I. the label wanted to release them on Harvest with Wire but the Pistols didn't want to be on the same label as Pink Floyd 🤣🤣

Sclucky enough to see Wire live at CBGB in 1977 right after Pink Flag. Pink Flag has a sophisticated sound with a minilistic sound keeping the solos out and giving the listener only what is relevant to the song. Wire goes forward adding experience to put out Chairs Missing then 154. The best first 3 LP's put out by any band . Everyday's a Saturday!

This specific copy of Pink Flag is a British re-issue from the 80's. I got it at Amoeba Records almost 9 years ago!
