Vinyl stripe removal

Of the dozen or so videos I've watched this is the only one so far that dealt with my exact situation !! My Mustang is an '06 and as far as I know the stripes have been there the whole time. They are baked !! Thanks for this vid !! Obviously time consuming but I think this is the way to go !!

@@waynejordan7473 I had three stripes on the hood of my Mini Cooper. It took me half a day to get them off and it didn’t come off that clean. They were really burned into the surface of the paint. After cleaning the affected areas the best I could with solvent. I used fine sand paper and sanded where the stripes were to get as smooth as I could without totally going through the paint. I applied my new stripes in about an hour and a half. They came out pretty good. I used a slightly wider stripe to cover past the edges of the old stripes. God Bless and good luck

Thanks for sharing, I bought a second hand car and 60% of the body is covered with vynl which is wearing off and changing colour. I got a quotation for paint respraying but is very expensive I'm definitely going to use your method to remove the vynl

I don't understand why you would heat up decal with hair dryer and then cool it off by spraying that goo be gone on top of it, doesn't it defeat the purpose of heating the decal? I thought the goo be gone is to remove the adhesive residue left behind?

I think the point of heating it up is to try unbake it from the paint

I got a dodge challenger and the vinyl strips are the same as yours so I'm going through trying to find and easier way to remove the strips. I am not looking forward to this job.
