😂 The ruling DPP oppose a bill that prevent MPs making false statements without consequences. It is really sad for the Taiwan people to have such a government.
@林其-z6x4 ай бұрын
The fight began with procedural justice concerns. The opposition parties united and passed a law involving congressional reforms, including the criminalization of false statements and the enforcement of presidential hearings. The law was approved without scrutiny of each clause, and its contents were kept confidential until the vote was held in Congress. There were no public hearings or suggestions from the ruling party. Legislators from the ruling party were very upset and fought back. It's difficult to judge who is more right because, while I believe this law is good, I understand the opposition parties felt they needed to vote first to prevent the ruling party from delaying it. However, I also believe procedural justice is a crucial mechanism to prevent arbitrariness.
@jeff8301034 ай бұрын
BULLSHIT Two opposition party, KMT and TPP, through ""legal procedures""are working together to pass legislation that stipulates if an official lies in the legislature, they will face administrative penalties. There were three public hearings and party negotiations where each clause was discussed, fully complying with the procedural rules of the Legislative Yuan of Taiwan. Supporters of the ruling party should stop lying.
@coconuciferanuts3394 ай бұрын

@DanielLai-zk7bz4 ай бұрын
Don’t like the KMT either but over the last eight years, the Democratic DPP has committed numerous disgraceful acts, and they've tried everything to prevent the bill from being passed. Those who have closely followed recent party negotiations know that DPP legislators never seriously read the provisions but merely delayed proceedings with the aim of obstructing the bill's passage. They even proposed 80 different versions of the bill, with each version differing only in punctuation and a few words. Despite their majority in Congress, the DPP failed to deliver on the reforms promised over the past eight years. It's clear that there's no bill that can't be passed, only those that the DPP doesn't want to pass. Holding all the power, they have allowed Taiwan's wealth gap to reach 66 times while deceiving the international community with claims that only the DPP can protect Taiwan's sovereignty, resulting in severe hardship for the people of Taiwan.

Some Chinese Communist Party legislators are sponsoring black-box legislation within Taiwan's Legislative Yuan. They force the bill to be filed without content and discussion. This is unacceptable to the people. On May 24, 100,000 people took to the streets to protest against the black-box legislation, which has no content and no discussion. , forced voting, shameful opposition party!

I’m a Taiwanese. This happening bc KMT broke the legislative norms of passing the laws. They skipped the process of reading those details of new law draft and directly sent those draft laws to voting, which means that nobody knew what’s the draft laws they were voting for, but KMT sent it to vote knowing they would pass their draft due to majority benefit. Skipping legislative norms shouldn’t happen in Taiwan. That is a China government thing who ripped civilian’s rights and democracy away.

KMT and TPP parties hold the majority in parliament. They always collaborate to propose bills that are favor a certain foreign power(China) and not based on the interests of the Taiwanese people. The content of yesterday's bills has not been made public, and there has been no discussion; KMT and TPP were trying to force the bills through.This is not democracy. They caused a conflict because DPP were trying to block the passage of the unreasonable bill. As Taiwanese, we want to safeguard the hard-earned democracy. We do not want anyone to betray democracy and collude with foreign political forces(China) to undermine the values of democratic governance.

According to the DDP male legislator, at first he claimed that he did not remember that he had tackled a female legislator from an opponent party and knocked her off a "stadium" by grabbing her ankles! After people told him it's all caught on the video, he then explained that he accidentally "slipped on a piece of paper" which caused him to leap in the air and bumped into her 🤣 Now the DDP social media, news, TV stations are painting him as a hero to saving Taiwan's democracy.
