I'm kind of surprised at how many reactors first assume she is a robot in episode one, despite seeing the blood, the injuries, her real arms in the flashback, and the fact that everyone around her treats her like an actual real person. All because someone refers to her as "a tool" and she doesn't show a lot of emotion - then again, being autistic, I have been described as "robotic" in demeanor as well.

German person here with some trivia: The country's name "Leidenschaftlich" literally translates to "passionate". The capital's name "Leiden" means "suffering". IMO it's very fitting for this story. Btw.: Hodgins is voiced by Takehito Koyasu (Dio in Jojo's, Shirogane's dad in Love Is War), Violet is voiced by Yui Ishikawa (Mikasa Ackermann in Attack on Titan). Violet is human. The reason people call her a tool with no heart is because as a child all her life she's been trained to kill people and fight, leaving little to no capacity for her to grow/develop emotions. That's why she talks and acts like a robot. She only followed orders from up to this point and this is her first time making a decision of her own/doing something *without* being ordered to. 15:12 No no no, you're getting this wrong- XD Cattleya, Violet and the rest of the Auto Memory Dolls are all human. The reason why they are called "Auto Memory Dolls" will be explained next episode. What Cattleya is doing is ghostwriting a letter based on what the client had said. They'll elaborate more on the job next episode too. But yeah, everyone in this anime is human, there are no robots here XD

Amazing first Violet reaction Goodwin. The imagery of Violet running through that warfare is indeed a jarring and yet beautiful scene in a way. A lot of your predictions and thematic analysis was on point as usual, and its the only the first episode. Goodwin crystal ball worked overtime this reaction. Totally agree as well the Pilot almost works as a on its own short film.
