I just realized I kept saying “violet leaf syrup”, instead of “violet flower syrup” 😂. Well, ya’ll know what I meant! (hopefully). 😅😊

Makes you love nature that much more right? 🙂. Not a day goes by where I’m not amazed by all the life-giving around us.

Whelp, my hubby is like your and mowed over all the violet in my yard before I got to it. I think I still see leaves coming back but, in an abundance of caution, will leave them be for now. I like to see flowers on them for a positive ID. Our yard is a beautiful green and hubby refers to it as "grass". Little does he know, what is in that grass is dandelions, clover, cleavers, violets, goosefoot, plantain, and a few other special "weeds" I love to harvest. He actually does me a favor cutting them back. New young growth and fresh flowers makes a lovely salad.

@@reibersue4845 oh, it’s a battle! I remember when I first started herbalism, my husband was constantly asking me with every cup of tea, “you aren’t going to poison me are you?” 😂. Now he’s sending me pictures of all the wild herbs he finds while he’s at work!

What if someone is allergic to okra? Is violet in the same family?
@theacadiangarden5 ай бұрын
Okra and violet are not in the same family, completely unrelated plants! 😊
