Your search for truth with an open mind and lack of agenda or hatred is so refreshing and commendable. This only solidifies my respect for you. Thank you for the countless calming videos and good luck on your journey. I too am confused and lost but willing to learn and try different approaches to belief. I really appreciate your similar take and your content. Thanks, Violet.

Stumbled across your channel after not having viewed it in forever. Pleasantly surprised to notice these videos. Your soul-searching is commendable. I'd be curious to hear your thoughts on Rogue One and recent Star Wars stuff. Hope you're doing well, and following what's best for yourself. Despite the negatives of KZbin and online communities, (and even if you don't return) I hope you can take pride in the fact you resonated so well to so many people. Best of luck to whatever you're up to!

Your videos are usually funny, or quirky, and always enjoyable. This video is refreshingly honest (and still delivered with a twist of Violet humor). The US Army boxed C-ration kits were more than a meal, they provided some other consumable items such as the mentioned four-pack of cigarettes, matches, toilet paper (not enough), chocolate, crackers and cheese, and the all important can opener (called a P-38, because it took 38 twists of the wrist to open a can, as the story goes). They could be eaten cold, or heated before opening by immersing in boiling water. They wouldn't be considered healthy by today's standards, but were high in necessary calories. I am not a smoker, so I used the cigarette packs as trade items. Today's rations are vacuum seäled mylar bag kits called MREs, but these are after my time. If these sound like horrible Survivor-style food challenge items, they are way better than what other countries give their service members. I had an opportunity to sample what our German army counterpàrts were given. Breakfast included a bread-like thing and a toothpaste tube of lärd to spread on it. I'm glad you have returned to your channel. I always enjoy listening to people who are brave enough to be themselves in front of a world of strangers and trolls.

Everyone at some point has to go through their own journey at some point. Normally it's during a growth, the Bible even says to work out your own salvation with fear and trembling. At some time in life we have to decide what we believe and why. Because many of us have been raised with "religion" although. I am not one who believes that a follower of Christ is a religion. It truly is a relationship that goes beyond just prayer or reading the Bible. It's a deep devotion and communion. I spent months questioning and seeking everything to do with my beliefs back in my early 20's. What I learned was highly profound and an immense trust in God the father, son and Holy Spirit. Ever since my "questioning phase" my faith has been rooted deeper than I knew possible. I hope you find what you are looking for and if you ever wanna talk I've talked with many people in your same boat :). Something I'm truly passionate about.

After watching this it reminded me of this one time after our priest gave his lecture and all, it was time for us to give peace to our neighbors and what not. I was a bit bored during the lecture and thought about Star Wars so when I shook a random person's hand instead of saying "peace be with you" I said to them "May the force be with you" overall I thought this was interesting and yet again as always Violet I got a good laugh out of this w/ur random rambles and jokes 😀

atheists don't care or believe. agnostics don't know.
@MrBeastknows8 жыл бұрын
mog dor Atheists do not say "there is definitely no god," rather we say there is zero factual evidence of a type of god presented in most religions. Atheists are based off science. Agnostics are beginner level non-religious types. They don't wanna understand that they are atheists yet, simply because of the stigma and their own assumptions. But atheists are atheists. Aka not theists. The argument that agnostics don't know and atheists deny completely is just ignorant.

It's okay to not be or feel religious, many go through it. Instead of seeking religion, seek science. Instead of seeking what old book, faith, and stories fit you seek rather information and truth. Because astronomy is amazing. Its my favorite subject. Its utterly soul crushing and depressing but so fascinating. I went through a very depressing summer when I slowly realized what I was taught by churches weren't true, and were quite biased. I was scared to go to bed, because each time I did I would think about death, and realizing it's likely just nothing. Which is fine, it makes me realize how wonderful life is. Not being religious I think made me a better and much more thoughtful person. I also love learning more than I used to before. Its quite wonderful, albeit sometimes dark.

How to Know God: The Yoga Aphorisms of Patanjali "I can even go as far as to say that this book changed me. I've always been interested in philosophy and the more philosophic religions like Buddhism, but I've never been keen on religion. After this book, I had a new appreciation for religion, including things I'd previous not liked about Christianity. By stepping outside of western thought and language, I could better understand western religion. The book also draws a lot of parallels between the New Testament and Vedantic thought, directly aiding that understanding."

Hey, Violet. I'm an atheist, and I feel great. I was raised as a Christian, and I became an atheist when I was 26 years old. My only regret is that I didn't become an atheist sooner. Thank you for sharing your experience with us. Also if you want to check out an interesting religion, then you should check out Raëlism. A lot of people have never even heard of that religion, but in my opinion, it makes more sense than the other religions out there. I don't believe what Raëlism teaches, but I enjoyed researching about it.

I understand the dilemma of being a person who questions and is naturally skeptical/analytical and yet is still 'spiritually curious' for lack of a better term. While I find the atheist/materialist approach the most convincing intellectually I do worry that it can cut you off from very valid and life affirming experiences that are too often the domain of religion (communal, spiritual, transcendental experiences etc.). I respect your curiosity. Good luck on your journey. :)
@MrBeastknows8 жыл бұрын
Dan Morgan Mark Jones Spirits have never been found or proven to be true (so unless someone comes up with legit evidence of it other than they feel it, then its mostly like not real) and any "connection" you feel is just chemicals going off in your brain. Hope I didn't sound rude, just trying to give a new perspective.
@danmorgan77758 жыл бұрын
I don't actually mean to refer to anything supernatural when I use the term spiritual, which I admit is somewhat confusing. I really mean to say the feeling of being connected to something greater than yourself that gives your life a sense of purpose or meaning or just happiness.
@MrBeastknows8 жыл бұрын
Dan Morgan Well still, that connection is anything more than chemicals going off in your brain. Feelings are just chemicals, I just don't want you to have the false belief of thinking you're "connected" to something other than your own body. I mean it's a nice thought and all, but in reality the only meaning in life is whatever you make it.

I'm not religious or even particularly spiritual. But I understand and appreciate the place of religion in the world and the minds of people. Life is hard for everyone, in one way or another, and people need help. When you can't find the strength within yourself to get by, it can be helpful to look to something or someone else for that strength. On that level, I completely get why people follow religions for meaning and guidance, even though I don't subscribe any real religious beliefs myself.

Violet, I commend you on your honesty and forthrightness about things. My sincerest recommendation is for you to download the apps Ligonier, Grace to You, and Nightsounds. Last week, during the U.S. Presidential debate, I declined to watch the coverage, opting instead to go for a prayerful drive. I traversed a couple counties while talking to God and stopped at a gas station for a snack. There, 35 miles from where I live, I met a homeless guy who was ready for a good word. God had orchestrated my seemingly random wanderings to result in this meeting. I shared these apps with the man, who still had his cell phone (and a job, actually), and these apps in turn will supply him with the Bible's treasures for years. It's no mistake that I "randomly" encountered your video, either. My prayers are yours, and I plead happily for Christ to reveal Himself to you to glorious effect. God bless you.
