I've only been playing for about 3 years, and even now I still find new things to do and new mods to install. I have every single tactical shooter on my steam account but Arma is the only one that didn't become boring after a while. And it's mainly due to how much single player content there is. Even if you can't find something for you, you can jump in the editor and do whatever you want. I hope this side of experience will be preserved in A4 and they will work hard on AI (both enemy and friendly) to make it even better.

As a modder, I've always had a love-hate relationship with Bohemia, but it really cannot be overstated just how much their open-ness towards community content has defined their success and who they are as a company today. Its a somewhat surreal feeling to know that more than a few people have bought Arma specifically because of the work I and countless other talented devs have done to bring new experiences to the game. I'll never understand why more companies dont have this mindset, and all I can hope is that Bohemia keeps succeeding to the point that the rest of the industry cannot ignore it anymore and start being more open to modding.

10 years is a long time but also damn I wished I got Arma 3 when it released back in 2013 but I was a console player back then at 16 years old. If it wasn't for communitites like Shack Tactical etc I wouldn't have known about Arma and now I have been playing proper since June 2020 with 900+ hours and have made amazing friends as a result which only inspired me to make Arma content too myself. Here's to another amazing 10 years of Arma 3 and Arma 4 and to the new friends we'll all meet in the future too.

Arma 3 is one of the games of all time. Seriously though, I absolutely adore Arma 3 and you hit every single nail on the head. I would also like to point out that Bohemia's business model in Arma 3 I think was really great. Maybe a couple of the DLCs feel slightly overpriced but I have to give Bohemia props for releasing free content alongside the paid DLCs. That's not something that a lot of companies in the gaming landscape are willing to do these days and I hope that Bohemia continues to do that with Arma 4

Omg pilgrimage is the best scenario . The fact that the enemy air support actually parked at airbases, the enemy calling in for arty support when you engage them , and my favorite part using their radio to hear their communications and use it to your advantage

Great video, awesome cinematic shots. The Arma 3 community is .... Well as 'corny' as it might sound, an actual community. It has a good number of folks willing to handhold new players through the simplest of tasks and the interaction/engagement between players, mod makers and content creators is awesome. I see yourself popping by the smallest of channels and saying hi including my own and it's great you feature other channels on your videos. Other games have communities, but in name only. If they do happen to have a 'community' it's solely about modded content and people wanting to troubleshoot this has everything, mods, machinima/cinematics, servers, clans -casual and milsim. I've even seen real life vets get a healthy dose of comradely and people who are quite frankly lonely getting some companionship. I've met some fantastic people on my Arma 3 journey thus far and hope to meet many more. Of course I'm heavily biased, I'm sure they're other awesome communities out there but I just love this one. ....I'll shut up now. 🤣

I've been playing Arma since the original DayZ days, and even though I don't play it steadily anymore, I do go back to it every now and then. I love to fly my Huey around Cherno, and I'm reminded with almost every blade of grass, the good times I had in locations around the map. Great game. Great sim. 😎👍

2013 I was just a young 13 yr old amazed by arma 3 and the ops that people made later on. now 23 10 yrs later this game may be old but will always be gold for all the fun memories and shenanigans it has given us, for all the ups and admittedly some downs and along side with some friendships made playing this game in the end of the day arma 3 will always be that one game that's in our hearts.

Great stuff! Really the only thing why I didn't make my own "conquer the map" in Altis for example is one very huge flaw with the engine: the amount of units. And I don't mean active; even with disabled "AI" (to be activated when coming near to the unit) is not a workaround that... well, works. If THAT can be achieved, to practically shower the map in units, I'm coming back 🙂

Here since 2002 with cold war assault ( formerly known as operation flashpoint), You are right, Arma 4 should include a 3D editor, otherwise it would not be Arma. I also think Bohemia could massively profit from producing the following; 1) a manual in paper, .pdf, and/ or videos on; • editing, and the enfusion engine, scripting for Arma 4 and Day Z. • Arma 4 workbench manual, mods and map creation, porting mods and missions from previous arma titles, etc. • the capacity to add one's face to the playable units, using photos, or video face scanning. •A user-friendly camera tool in the editor to create intros, and thus, improve immersion, and presentation of missions/ campaigns. • user-friendly briefing system, with the maps for different factions displaying different info, objectives, and markers. Allowing players to write, and add routes and markers. • conditionally- branched waypoints, according to the outcome of triggers for immersion, and dynamism. • A more detailed system to create and classify the AMAZING asset that are "compositions" in arms 3. 2) include a free voice-command system, combined with a radial or concentric order menu that can be turned off/on according to needs or tastes. 3 ) the capacity to track enemy units on foot or vehicles, for evasion, escape, detective, and mystery scenarios, with wheel prints, footprints, blood stains. Also leaving damaged branches, bushes and grass as units step on them. Include vanilla ID card, tracking devices, espionage equipment, etc. Fauna ( insects, mammals, birds, etc) making noise in close proximity. 4) FFS, we need dangerous animals that can affect the course of a mission, both on land and water, not just chickens, goats, etc. These predators should be able to follow trigger-linked waypoints, both stealthily or making plenty of scary noises. Acting alone or in packs. And ideally should also be playable. Who knows, BI could produce a DLC later expanding this to the fantasy world, i.e werebears, werewolves, vampires, ghosts, ..., Clothing, armor, weapons, and assets, of different eras. Imagine the editing possibilities ;).

I got Arma 3 back in 2013, as an avid player of Arma 2 it was a mix of amazement over how pretty the world was with some annoyance that it was at that time way more bare bones than Arma 2. There was no campaign, all factions lacked important vehicles and especially AAF was nothing but a few soldiers and a few light armored vehicles(And the only jet in the game). It's easy to forget, but Arma 3 had the old 2D editor for almost 2 years until Eden was released. However with every update things were added and the game became larger than ever, but let's not forget the humble beginnings. The Arma editor has been my main stay for games since it came out. I really hope Arma 4's editor is almost the same. The only thing they need to add is more waypoints and modules. Truly, the only thing I want is for them to add a new tab for animation waypoints. Good lord the amount of hours I've spent just getting the animations to sync and flow correctly.

The only real issue i see about arma 4 is that bohemia might focus quite a lot more in infantry combat, which is rly cool but also sad for the tank or ifv players, from what ive heard enfusion engine was never able to make tracks work, any tracked vehicle might need to be added by modders unless bohemia finds a way or codes something to make tracked vehicles work

I love Arma 3 but recently I did uninstall it so that I could make room for more reforger mods. As cool as Arma 3 is I’m tired of the frame rate drops, poor graphics, janky mechanics and poor performance even on a high powered modern system. I’ve been having a blast on Reforger and the mods have been getting better by the day, AI is also a lot smarter and fighting them if actually a challenge. Can’t wait for Arma 4.

I really don't know how people have played for 10 years. I have a love hate with arma 3. When it works it's awesome. Problem is getting it to work. To have fun on your own. The game lacks out of the box replay value. Arma players always tell you "just download these mods and find a group" No, the game should be fun and have replay value out of the box with no mods or DLC and in single player. Mods should enhance not be required. I seriously hope arma 4 does better. Reforger has me excited for what arma 4 *could be* But arma players will criticize the AAA industry, and games like squad and HLL for losing authenticity. But revere Bohemia when they blatantly got lazy and shifted the responsibility of making content to the player. I think arma 3 has an amazing community. I think the fact it has so many mods is wonderful But that shouldn't be required. Arma 3 players are in no position to criticize other games and developers about being unfinished, when the devs of their own game are literally no better. When they literally made 100000x content for the game. I just want to have fun out of the box. I just want some dynamic replay value. For the love of God please can Arma 4 have that. I'm going to be so heart broken if I have to download something to enjoy arma 4 after I've already paid for it. If arma 4 can do that. Then I'll start entertaining more mods. I criticize arma 3 not to be a hater. But because it could be so much more efficient and better at what it does. Some of the mods lack stability. Or lack play testing and require trouble shooting. Or maybe a scenario has 70% of what I want but not 100%, where as another scenario will have something else I want but not everything. I say this because I really want arma 4 to be a refined arma 3. To do everything and more and better Out of the box No mods required. If it can do that I will love it for eternity. And THEN mods will ENHANCE the experience 2000 fold.
