What do you think about this latest TikTok food trend? 🫐🍓🥝🥥
@callioscope3 жыл бұрын
I’m too old for the TikToks 😱 and rely on KZbin and people like you to relay it to me. 😁 None of us need help eating fruit (I honestly think it’s a Jewish thing) and last summer I lost five pounds eating fruit and a sourdough discard English muffin every morning and a salad for lunch (we do a salad greens CSA). There are few things better to eat than Oregon summer fruit and am glad that Portland’s Sat farmer’s market is in my neighborhood-there is one in a different neighborhood each day of the week-and 💗 that wine country is also fruit country. 😊 I’m going to catch up on your smoothies videos now ... . Stay safe and here is to hoping we will all be vaccinated soon.

Looks good! Here in Southeast Asia we normally just eat each fruit on its own. 😉

Thank you for sharing this wonderful fruit salad and explaining many of the exotic fruits taste! Did you peal the starfruit?
@GeoffreyAlan3 жыл бұрын
I kept the peel on the star fruit; the skin is white thin, so I don't mind it. Though you could cut it off if you wanted to.

If you score the pomegranate skin and kinda pull it apart into 2 halves, then submerge in a bowl of water and kinda brush the arils away from the pith with your fingers, it reduces mess and is relatively painless! 😊

I’ll have to try this! Thank you 😊

Fruit salads soaked in fruit juice are actually very common in South America
@GeoffreyAlan3 жыл бұрын
That makes so much sense that this would have originated in South America with warmer climate and abundant fresh produce! I didn’t finish my bowl in one sitting and this definitely got better with age - the flavors melded together in the coconut water a bit and it was quite nice. I may revisit this again in the summer when fresh produce is actually in my area.

@@GeoffreyAlan yes!! Letting it sit there is what they do in Venezuela. That dish you ate is called Tizana hahaha

I’m sure this is an unpopular opinion, but I can’t stand tiktok mostly bc of ish like this 😂. Still love this video Geoffrey

🤣 I don’t think you’re alone in that opinion! When I saw this trend it was an immediate world-record-breaking eye roll 🙄

I can’t stand papaya, it smells like throw up to me 🤢 I’m not on TikTok and don’t plan to be because it’s full of gen z know-it-all’s so I’m mostly watching this video for support lol
@GeoffreyAlan3 жыл бұрын
Thank you for the support! I had the same initial reaction to papaya my first time trying it 🤣 but the flavor grew on me 😅

So it's "Gen Z" Fruit Salad because of it's reliance on exotic fruits?
@GeoffreyAlan3 жыл бұрын
You could make this with any fruit, really. The coconut water seems to be the signature ingredient across all variations though.
