For anyone who needs to hear this, your virginity is not your value. A woman’s worth is not tied to whether she’s had sex or not. Before or after marriage. If you wait that is cool, that means you are comfortable with that choice. If you don’t that is cool, that means you were comfortable with that choice. Sex should not denote value on anyone. If you’re the Virgin Mary cool , if you’re a sex worker, cool. You all have value and worth and respect. Some of you need to learn to actually practice the scripture and love of god you’re spouting off 🤘🏼✌🏼👍🏻

How many times do you see in schools, social circles, even the media where virgins are the butt of jokes or have basement dwelling, social outcast/loser stereotypes attached to them? Especially when it pertains to male virgins. Nowadays it's programmed into people, especially teens, that losing your virginity is more accepted than waiting because choosing to wait makes you an uptight prude like those cliche'd tropes of a virgin finally 'coming out of their shell' and gaining confedence and being a more fun person after having sex. Infact, most of the people making a big deal about this bride having her V-card in this comment section are self proclaimed non virgins. If someone is proud being a virgin they have just as much of a right to feel good about that just like a person who is proud of their body count and in this world of social media I see way more of that than loud and proud virgins.

@@saffronlealle6694 but blue is the actual colour of purity (in the West) afaik....
@milliejay14514 жыл бұрын
M99980 it didn’t symbolise virginity. She chose white as it was expensive to own a white dress. If you were a working woman, a white dress would dirty too easily so it was really uncommon for a woman of low status to wear white because it was impractical and the fabric was so expensive. The most common colour to marry in was blue because it was one of the easiest fabric to buy and Queen Victoria’s advisors and family pushed her to get a blue dress or even red but she refused and wanted white because she knew it would make her look rich and powerful which is something she needed as a 20 year old queen in a world ruled by men. It was a political move. The idea of it being a virgin thing came from Godey's Lady's Book which was a lady’s magazine who wrote an incorrect article (it was just a rumour even at the time and it was proven false) about 8 years later about why the white craze had started however this was not Victoria’s motive and the white of a wedding dress does not symbolise virginity.

Well it could be because of the style of wedding she's having. Maybe she was asking to see if an off-white gown would clash with something the bride had in mind. And the girl didn't HAVE to tell her anything. She could have just said, she's always wanted a pure, white gown. But I think Granny has been grooming this poor girl to constantly proclaim her virginity, because Granny likes showing off her "VIRGIN granddaughter."
@candlegal103113 жыл бұрын
There might have been several reasons for her wanting white out side of virginity. My sister-in-law wanted a pure white dress because she was having a winter wedding. Her dress was pure white to off set the icy blues and silvers of her wedding colors. My besty wanted a pure white dress because her skin tone made the white pop more. Another freind hated cream and ivory so wanted a pure white dress. They ask so they know, maybe a pure white dress is a family tradition. Maybe the bride just thinks she wont look good in an ivory or cream color and they can pull an ivory or cream to show her other wise. They dont know so they ask. Also the bride made a point to insist the dress be pure white. Which if someone told me hey I want pure white i would be curious why. Mostly though it's their job to ask questions

I think she has doubts because she wants to be with someone, but she can only be with someone if it is forever and ever. Hence the gigantic amount of divorces, teenpregnancies in America and the average age for sex being 15. And in the land of condoms, non-taboo's and prostitutes (the Netherlands) the average age is 17 to 19, with fewer divorces and hardly any teen pregnancies, because sex-ed is not about abstinence, but about facts.

@@DK-qp9os the issue now a days is sex is more important than love. People put sex above anything else which is silly. @@vanillathunder11559 Sex is important to a lot of people because it is considered another point of compatibility in a lot of relationships. Waiting is a personal choice and should only be a personal choice, but unfortunately due to societal beliefs and values, the idea of waiting until marriage is upheld above anything else and the concept of teaching safe sex practices is demonised due to abstinence only education. Sex and love go hand in hand, neither one should dominate the other in a healthy relationship.

I am not saying that people need to wait until marriage to have sex, but to claim that one needs “test drives “ so see if they are sexually compatible in the long term is BS. Over the course of life, each person’s sex drive will change several times over (at least for a woman- I cannot speak for men). Hormones, family building, aging, health, fitness, mental health- all these and probably more affect a person’s sex drive. I think open communication and the ability to communicate sexual needs and desires is a much more important skill for the long term than simply having a “test drive “ when your young...

@@katzlevyalon Coming from an overly religious family and country where sex before marriage is seen as an embarrassment, for me a 'test drive' to see if I am sexually compatible with someone is essential. I can see where she gets her anxiety from. Her mom and grandma are bundles of nerves. Poor thing. I know how she feels. She expressed how she doesn't want to "waste anyone's time" or "make anyone upset" with her. That's a clear red flag. She needs therapy to learn how to love herself and know that she's not a burden. I've been there and I'm still suffering from those feelings. A lot of therapy and self reflection has helped a lot, but it's a very, very slow journey to healing. If she's this indecisive about making decisions on her own, she shouldn't get married yet. She's only 20 and has a host of mental health issues. She needs to find herself first. I hope beyond hope that her fiance is understanding and will help her on her journey. It'll only strengthen their relationship if they traverse it together, hand in hand. My fiance and I have been together 13 years. We haven't gotten married yet for various reasons (finances, health, stress, etc) and we're okay with that. We wanna get married and talk about it often, which is fun. We'll definitely do it at some point, but we don't feel rushed. Marriage has never been important to me. I'd be happy with him with or without that government certificate. A solid relationship is built on communication, trust, compassion, understanding, respect, listening, and accepting each other for who they really are. If you haven't seen your lover at their worst, you'll never really know if you can handle it down the line. I'm not saying getting married super young can't work. It can succeed. My parents were a good example. But most of the time, if you haven't had a variety of experiences together (both good and bad), you should wait until you do.

Besides the whole TMI virgin thing people mention, she’s also a bit too hasty to get married and if she *relies* on her partner that much to calm her down, how does she cope when he’s not around? Don’t marry someone with the expectation for your future spouse to complete you. If you are not whole as you are, you’re gonna have many problems down the line.
