I love when the bagpipes stop and you can just hear the whole stadium sing it raw. Love this anthem and really enjoyed it at the Principality a few days ago. Many welsh sung it too it sounded great. Going to a packed Murrayfield is on my bucket list. Hope to do it someday soon.

Sort of, Flower of Scotland is about Robert the Bruce defeating England in 1314, he fought them from 1306 until his eventual victory and England's capitulation in 1328. The British anthem was aimed more at Catholic Scots who wished to return the House of Stuart to the throne during the jacobite civil war of 1745.

I’m 42% Scottish, 30% Irish, 4% Swedish and Danish, and 24% English and Western European. My two communities (Where my closest living ancestors lived/live) are highlands of Scotland and surrounding islands. The other community is the lowlands of Scotland, very tip of Northern England, and Northern Ireland. I thought I was at least 3/4s English. That’s not the case. This has made me realise how fickle nationalism is. I identify more with my Celtic side. My ancestry DNA is fascinating. My dad was adopted, so that’s why I thought he was English. I knew my mum’s parents met when my grandad was based up in Scotland when he was a flight sergeant, rear gunner, in the Lancaster Bomber. Him and my Nan, made my mum. I’ll always support England, especially in the football. Boxing and MMA - I like all Brits. Us Celts have been here far longer than most English groups.
