Not thing I’ve noticed that makes this plugin op is…sampling stuff. And vocal chops. Ya don’t even need to find a sample or get a vocal chop to follow the chord progression. Just midimap it to the chords or root note. It’s soooo dope.

I LOVE plugins that can totally change existing sounds. I just got back into Harmor, which can resynthesize and play it sorta like a wavetable synth, whether you scale and thus distort the sound to C or leave it as it is. I make a cool bass out of a kick drum scaled to C, copy the patch and try it with a bunch more kick drums with quick drag and drops, it's straight up overwhelming how many sounds some of these plugins will spit out, I can totally see why Venus Theory etc. just ended up selling sample/preset packs. And that's all just in the box with harmor, I just resonated a stock drum loop to a Dorian scale, imported that and didn't scale to C to reserve the chord sound, scrolled through cool bits at slow speeds, used the amazing unison Harmor has, that's a whole part I can keep as is or chop up. incredible. These aren't just tools that give us what we want, they're straight up idea generators too, and not just ideas, parts that make up the backbone of an entire track. It's weird phaser/filter stuff has straight up written melodies out of chords for me, or given that little bit of expressive flourish to existing melodies that I just wouldn't be able to come up with, using the harmonics of those melody notes.

Yeah, this plugin is soooo useful, but you can also make Colour Bass with a vocoder, the routing is important.

@@bassti_ ive been producing for 8 years. im saying that this one plug in is literally the "color bass" sound. all you need is to buy the $350 plug in throw it on some VR loops or presets pick a key and scale and you have the sound and because of that the color bass sub-genre is already dead because of how easy it is to use this plug in and get that sound almost instantly.. i would know i literally have it and use it lol
