I do understand this primarily is a "Waveform" tutorial with Dante. Don't forget other free DAWs - such as Luna from UA. And also Dante is a nice but not too common option at smaller churches. Install helpful videos should show the install and setup for both Mac and Windows(yeah, I know, more work to do more content). Many folks out there definitely will benefit from virtual sound check. And SO MANY churches out there do not do this. Should also list all other DAWs someone should be able to choose from (Reaper, Waves Tracks Live, Luna) and then some of the other music production DAWs too (Studio One, Ableton, Cubase, Pro Tools). I put PT last as it is a subscription service and you kind of lock-in to this when you get going with it. Not as simple to get a small church rolling with PT than some of the others who just want to do VSC.

Thanks for the video. We've been trying to use Waveform without Dante and haven't had any success. Do you have any pointers or tutorials using Waveform without Dante?

I can get everything to record from the different tracks, but it won't play back through the different channels. It only plays through the channels we use for our KZbin broadcast. We're using the X32. Where do I find the 1:1 routing?

Could you adjust gain input on the mixing console when doing virtual sound check with USB input? Or the gain trip don't work with USB input?

yep you can mix it how you want in the console as you treat any other inputs :)

Be careful though - you will have digital input from the computer/DAW and have "trim" on the input from the digital feed and not gain. Effectively do not adjust gain on your VSC - you want to have proper gain staging done before you even start recording. Get a good signal to the console - record it and then when play back occurs, you "shouldn't have to" adjust the trim - you want to get back from the DAW the same volume (voltage) level as you recorded.

Good video, however the free version is pretty much limited to a few use cases. i think reaper would be a much better *free alternative

yeah, *free. I have to pay for mine still as well. Will do near end of year. But Waves Tracks Live is a free recording/playback product for those who don't want to use a DAW for record/playback only. If you have a DAW - use it for all the good stuff a DAW offers (mixing up a good mix of a song for final release). Or the DAW serves a good purpose for mixing your stream audio where you can apply plugins that you don't have on board a lower-end digital board. I am surprised Luke is pushing Dante here when people just don't have Dante at the level that is assumed. Standard USB interface would be more appropriate. Drew Brashler has some good videos on all that too.
