Excellent video. Eye opening to discover what people will toss into their bins. I'm so sorry for the danger your employees face as a result of that.

Does the Concord new Hampshire recycling end up in that place

Ok...and how do you seperate the different glad colours from each other? That's really stupid. In Germany we easily place some Glas containers brown, green and white next to the Street. Done. For plastic bottles and drink bins we have a pay back system, so it is not necessary to sort them out inside the facilities.

In most or some U.S. states we can take cans and back to stores and redemption centers and get money back

Is it true that small items (smaller than 2"x 2") like soda bottle caps or Rx bottle caps, will cause problems in the machines?
@lianea.93113 жыл бұрын
I'm pretty sure small items don't cause a problem with the machines, it's just that they will fall through and not be recycled at all. Some places suggest screwing the caps back on the bottle (once they are clean and dry) so that they will not fall through. I don't remember if Casella is one of those places.

I was wondering about if it was possible to get a permit to be able to take electronics out of your dumpsters? Such as monitors, tv's and microwaves. And I mean garbage dumpsters not zero sort.
@cwcspyninja22493 жыл бұрын
Well zero sort is casella and casella collects Trash and recycling from a few towns and city’s not far into NY they collect a lot so places garbage in Massachussets And NH and Maine

not sure what you mean by a permit, but if you're looking to keep dead electronic items out of the trash, many municipalities have e-waste collection days and other groups host them as well. There may be a place near you.

This did not explain at all how the plastics are sorted. Are plastics burned? They are in some places. In our area #1,3,5 are accepted but I always notice idiot neighbors throwing in 2,4,6. I am curious what happens with that. I doubt you have the man power to manually sort every piece individually
