I wish I'd have watched this before wasting pretty much 5 hours chopping grass, collecting it and then compacting it in my tiny bunker 😅 gonna struggle to get it collected, I think I'm gonna stick with silage bales 🤔

What buttons do you push to cover your grass to make silage

I believe it's "R" to get the silo covered once the contents have been compacted.

Windrowers aren't *necessary,* they just make it quicker/easier, but you don't actually *need* them.

You can either sell them at the barn, at the BGA (in the same place as loose silage) or use them to feed the cows.

I've cut grass and store it in a big silo (playing on pv county map) but even after several days it still says grass! what am I doing wrong?

Are you using Maize Plus or a similar mod that alters how silage works? If not, grass tipped into a silage clamp should show as chaff not grass, so it sounds like you have an issue with a mod somewhere.

@@VirtualFarmer I was given a link to silo yesterday that compressed grass and made it into silage, so issue is sorted now. :)

Yep. Covering the silage is a base game function. The chaff can only be covered though if you have enough silage in the clamp and it has been 100% compacted.
