It's very cool that you and your fellow crew members are able to have an outside deck area. We're right behind you leaving tomorrow on the Quantum of the Seas. Our ports are Icy Straight, Skagway, Juneau, and Victoria. In Juneau, the tram is Mt. Roberts and a very cool ride. I spent my early years in Juneau. Ketchikan is a nice city to walk around in especially to the creek area. We tested negative for COVID 19 today.

My son, his wife, and their little son and baby daughter just got off Ovation on Friday. They took beautiful photos from the ship, the White Pass train, at Mendenhall Glacier, and the tram up to the top of Mount Roberts. The weather was so warm until rainy Ketchikan. They went back to the ship early and went swimming in the covered pool area where the temperature was perfect. They loved the ship, the food, and the friendly staff and fellow cruisers. I'll pray that the Covid outbreak is soon over and you can get off the ship to explore.

Hey Chris, we met you at the Casino just last week and had a picture taken with you. We had a good time at the cruise although we came off and tested positive for covid. Good thing it happened after we got off the ship, otherwise we would not have enjoyed the glorious Alaskan ports and scenery. If you ever do get to go out on shore leave and wish to go see the white pass summit in Skagway, I recommend the bus tour ( we took frontier tours…small group) instead of the train. It travels parallel to the train so you see the same sights but you will stop at some scenic sites for picture taking. The snow capped mountains were magnificent. I hope you stay safe and healthy.

It was great to meet you last week! You’re a great casino host! Nice to see you interacting with the guests so frequently! I will say however, royal did the crew, and the passengers wrong selling this sailing to full capacity, with having such few crew available. Not fair to you guys or the passengers.

Chris, the views were still really great, and most passengers never get to access the helipad, so it was a nice perspective of the front of the ship/ bridge. It's always fun to see your colleagues photo bombing for folks back home!

Chris, take another look at the first sentence of the previous comment posted by Jean Hughes. It is so true. As I told you the weather will change every five or 7 hours. Also, I commented that you should try and enjoy the beautiful scenery of Alaska. It changes as often as the weather. If you listen to YOUR VOLG today, you will hear yourself comment on how beautiful sunny weather is. But listen to yourself further. At one point you comment of the clouds and fog then you continue in the same breath how beautiful the scenery is with the clouds and fog. Be well friend. Stay tuned there is much more to coming your way! Just sit back, relax and take it all in!

Hey Chris, I have a few thoughts on your video today -- 1) Sorry to hear about crew being unable to go to shore due to the rise in cases. Hopefully the cases will go down soon and you'll be able to explore the beautiful ports in Alaska along with my hometown city of Seattle 2) That Princess cruise ship was the Discovery Princess, the newest ship in their fleet that is doing roundtrips to Alaska from Seattle. 3) I am glad that you are getting to enjoy the beautiful views of Alaska, you were cruising through Endicott Arm which is the main passage to get to Dawes Glacier. 4) Ketchikan is known as the salmon capital of the world so you were right when you thought there might be a lot of fishing there :) 5) Say hello to J from The ShipLife for me. I connected with him prior to his 5/13 Ovation cruise that he is on right now and I hope you guys get to connect! 6) I am a huge fan of Alaska cruising, living here in Seattle, been there 6 times (2x on Ovation last summer) and just got back from Quantum 5-nighter and going again on Quantum in July for 7-nights with family and friends. 7) I hope to get to meet you one day. As a fellow cruise vlogger, it's always nice to connect with folks who have similar passions and goals. Keep up the great work and see you next time! Take care! -Cruising With JT

Sorry to hear about losing shore leave. I just returned from the Harmony of the Seas and Covid cases were rising (most ships have gone from the GREEN color back up to ORANGE again) They had to cancel the Grease shows due to the cast members getting Covid. We have cruised 56 times, 3 since January 2022. My recommendations from what I saw on our last 3 cruises are: ships are almost full capacity and now & cases are rising fast, they don't require guests wearing masks but thank goodness the crew double masks. The waiters in the main dining room pick up guests glasses when filling which can spread Covid from guest to guest. They have gloves on but do not change them each time they touch someone else's glass...it only protects them from not getting it on their hands...but they do touch other objects with the same contaminated glove. They should change the serving spoons in the Windjammer frequently so less people are touching them and contaminating other people. Use plastic gloves (dollar store) when using the buffet to serve yourself as the crew is no longer doing it for you. I have wet wipes with me at all times and wipe down my glasses, silverware, my hands after touching chairs, menus etc. I also use those elevator keys to push elevator buttons or to open doors. I realize the ships want to run at full capacity but they really shouldn't. Cases were low when there were less people and they required people to wear masks in congested areas, only 4 people in elevators, social distancing, washing the tables and chairs in the Windjammer ...now cases are rising since they stopped requiring masks, no social distancing, basically just going back to how it was before Covid. I noticed crew were much less stress with less guests and now the ships are full it's much more demanding on them. If crew get Covid it puts more pressure on other crew to help fill in. Royal, please think of your dedicated crew members and how hard they work and stop trying to run full ships now that Covid is rising. Think of the end results...shutting down again, losing crew members, cost of having crew members sick, people not cruising because they don't feel safe on the ships. Yes, we all LOVE cruising. The crew love their jobs and are fantastic at what they do which makes cruising a fun filled experience for guests. Covid has changed our way of life and the cruise ships need to go back to protecting the crew and guests better. Now that schools are getting out and more kids will be cruising that are not vaccinated, this may also raise the number of cases. Please do all you can to stay safe and healthy.

My wife and I just did an interior Alaskan cruise from Vancouver on Royal Caribbean where we both got COVID. The first for both of us who are vaccinated and boosted. Not to mention my wife is an ER nurse who deals with COVID positive patients on the daily and I work at a big box store. Neither one of us after being exposed daily for two years got sick. Leave it to us to treat ourselves and only to get sick. Take precautions no matter what
