You should try chilean Carmenère. It's made from a lost type of grape that was re-discovered in Chile a couple of decades ago.

Wow, this is quite a product. You write beautifully and the production value of this video is good enough for prime time television. I've subscribed and I hope that many more follow suit. Interestingly, what stood out to me most was the kindness and passion of the Chilean people. This is a place that I really would consider visiting, as much for the wine as the people who make it. Purple Angel is always a bottle that I've wanted to try but the price tag deters me. Maybe I'll have to splurge one of these days.

You will be welcome in Chile, we have a lot of adventure tourism, I recommend that you come in September, spring, there are still snow-capped mountains and it is not cold, here in Chile you can be on the beach one day and the next day in the snow or mountains, lagoons, waterfalls and rivers with turquoise water and volcanoes, many volcanoes above 3000 meters, many beautiful beaches in the central area

I'm Chilean, living abroad, and it always amazes me to find Chilean wine in the countries I've visited, especially in Asia. Chile exports a lot to Asia. I always go for Carmenere, but it's been a bit challenging to find a good Carmenere. Many of the bottles I've bought have cork taint.

Great show. The Chilean spoiled you a lot...you got to drink all the premium wines fromSan Pedro, Leyda, Vik and Montes. I've never had the most premium stuff from Montes (and his most affordable wines have never sit well with my palate), but I've had Sideral and some wines from VIk and Leyda. I feel like revisiting them after this show. This year I had the experience of riding a horse for the first time - on the strenght of my daughter incessantly asking - and had the same reaction. Horse riding kicks ass! I've been to Chile 13 years ago, way before I've become interested in wine, and I still remember the freezing cold breezes in Viña del Mar.

what you see here is the premium end mostly, however there are a lot of wines in the middle that are fantastic price/quality wise from the likes of de martino, laberinto and even traditional winemakers like cousiño macul. worth exploring if you ever visit.
