This raga is the one to listen to on your afternoon off from work, as you go to your favorite place in nature, or simply relax, surrender and do nothing.

Thank you for sharing this recording. As you said, the sound quality is much better than many others (I am so grateful for that) and it’s not widely available, and it’s very unlikely I would have had the time and resources to get this recording myself. I’ve run out of superlatives to try to describe Nikhilda’s playing. Words reach, but they can never arrrive; they float away into nothing as the sublime river of his music passes over them.

I am so happy to have discovered Pt. Banerjee's work of recent. He is a great virtuoso and emotionally potent player. As with most of past masters there is no current match to his depth of expression or knowledge.

I am so pleased to read what you have written. The lover of Sitar regardless of his prior appreciations, continues to find subtle beauty as precious gifts with each successive listening. I heartily agree with you that very few can match his : sincerity to the raag, and sincerity to his master.

Well stated. That is why he deserves the title of Sitar Samrat. The Emperor of Sitar.

Very appropriate comment..he had his own class, something that we see in today's Sahid pervez, not restrictive to a fixed genre

I've heard this same gawoti-esque gat sung by Ustad Amir Khan. Gorgeous.

He was a gem of classical music and ahead of his times. His playing touches heart and reminds bridge of music and God.

The raga Bhimpalasi by pandit nikhil banerjee is a master piece performance. It is unfortunate that after searching heart and soul the raga jog not found on U tube till.

If he played pure Jog, so pfar it is not available. His Jog Kauns and Jogiya Kalingra are famous and available, as you probably know.
