Oh how I love what you did with these shorts!!! You definitely have inspired me to do this also, just having finished doing this with the third pair of jeans of my husband. He now proudly wears it and tells people it is the new fashion, haha! I remember when we came back to Holland after WW II and were given hand me down clothes from the Salvation Army and Red Cross , most of them well worn of course, my mom mended holes my sweaters with embroidery. Funny how some of those things come back and how wonderful that people are embracing it now. Thank you, thank you for the great work and ideas you give me.

I also heard that mending was a common household skill out of necessity. I heard from someone in my mum’s generation that they mended or repurposed garments and never threw away fabrics until they became a size of a stamp because everything was hard to obtain after the war. My mum used to mend and refashion my clothes which were handed down from my brother. Although they were boys clothes I always loved them because she added some cute patches. When I was mending these shorts, I was thinking about those clothes from my childhood❤️

Loved the video! I was literally just looking at one of my favorite pair of work jeans that had the hem line all worn out and was wondering about the best way to mend them! Thank you!

A very cute way to re-cycle to give it an old pair of shorts and giving it a spin on starting a trend in fashion😊

That’s such a pretty design. I love that it complements the pattern already on the shorts rather than overwhelming them. They look really hard wearing too.

I like the round patch because the denim has polkadots, but on most things I love hearts. 💖🌞🌵😷

10:42 I like the weaving, but I thought you were going to to do the +s. More traditional sashiko. 💖🌞🌵😷

Love v contrast. Where do you get the cloth with the lines on? Is it water soluble. Sorry I'm completely new to this. 😮

Welcome to my channel😊 For the patch, I drew a grid of 5mm squares on a cotton fabric. It stays as a patch under the stitches. I used a heat erasable pen to draw the grid but you can use a general pencil as the patch material and the lines become invisible covered by stitches❤️

This is beautiful! I love your daughters color choices and your patterns. Would you still use a blanket stitch on the hem of the shorts if the entire hem was undone? I have a pair of shorts like that but instead of being worn at the edge the stitching on the hem just came undone. Wondering if i need a different method.

Hi! If the whole hem is undone, I might just simply stitch along it. Also, in the past, I stitched hem area with Urokozashi like this⬇️ Have you tried this Sashiko pattern before? I stitched Urokozashi kzbin.info/www/bejne/f4Laf5t7n5mmrtU
