Thank you for your tutorials! Do you know if it's possible to break it down by department, but still have the President and Vice President on there? So basically, just one branch of the tree but still with the top execs?

Sorry not directly. Maybe you could create separate org charts using the by department method then bring them together at the end.

Hi, in case one change the data in the "reports to" column, the links in the chart do not update automatically. Is there a way to make it update automatically after "refreshing"? (The only way I see is to delete the Employee and add it again with the "Reports to" value.) Thanks. P.S. This seam to be the only comprehensive guide in U2B... Thanks!

Not that I know of. It will only change the data. This means you may have to run the wizard again sorry.

Great tutorial. But there is an issue in Visio 2016 - using your solution with Emp ID, the Org Chart appears with Emp ID as the Name of the employee. How to overcome that?

Good question! You can edit the org chart in Visio. But unfortunately you can't link the shapes. Which means if departments change and you update the Excel file you're going to have to run the wizard again.

I have a question regarding about the excel file.....when I upload my excel file into visio...the visio warns me that my excel file have duplicates of data...which some of my department have vacancies in their position...and the visio just delete the duplicates without my permission....so when the org chart has been form, some vacant positions have already been deleted, how do I solve this ?...Thank You for your time and consideration...Hope to hear from you soon.

I understand the problem but you do need to have unique values for each emp ID for this to work. So you'll need to establish exactly where your vacancies exist and assign them an emp ID even if you don't yet have an somebody to fill the role. I know that it's a bit of a pain but can't think at the mo of another way around multiple vacancies.
