Do NOT buy Disney, Sea World, Universal, etc. tickets from those tourist information stands or those ticket selling stands in hotel lobbies. These sales people will say anything including tremendous lies to get you to buy their tickets. we had some people tell us that these were special tickets that would give us fastpass access to every ride (EVERY RIDE, EVERY TIME) even on a holiday. We should have known better (we go to Disney often), but the sales person was a great liar. ALSO, those ticket sale desks in the hotel lobby are not sponsored or backed by the hotel. If you have a problem with those tickets (if the tickets don't work or if they don't include all of the bonuses the salesperson promised), the hotel will NOT take ANY responsibility for the mistake/the money you are out... And NEITHER will that same ticket company/salesperson. WORD TO THE WISE!!

@@MizzKittyBichon Well, the hard-sell retail stuff should scare everyone...but timeshares are quite useful if you know what to look for on the resale market. They can be had free or for closing costs a lot of the time, but you need to know what you are looking for and what you are getting into. I've traded timeshares for years and it's what allows us to vacation in high end resorts very very cheaply. I would NOT recommend going on a timeshare tour ever, though!! Those people will say anything to get you to buy retail. UGH, just no.

Mark (and others) you need to keep in mind...DON'T FORGET the saying that native Floridians have "if you see any standing water larger than a small puddle, you have to assume there's a gator in it". Even on Disney property, there are gators. They are not tame, and they are not toothless. Be smart! (Mark, you are making me very nervous standing with your back to that swamp area.)

10:19 Hey, Disney Cast Member here, not a lot of people know this but when you do ship something home (as in to where you live not your hotel) make sure to ship larger items not small ones that would fit in luggage. The way we charge for shipping at Disney is by number of items, not size! So it would be much more expensive to ship multiple bracelets or key-chains rather then one or two large plushes.

One little addition to #9 (get there early) would be "try to get into the park as far as possible as fast as possible" and do the park kinda in reverse. That's what we do usually. So at least some rides we get with little to no lines at all ;) (Also a good reason for a second breakfast ;) Without being crowded.)

Been to WDW at least 15 times. Still make a plan every time....always stay onsite....drink drink drink....take advantage of air conditioning. Run for the most popular rides at rope drop (Soaring, Avatar, Space Mountain) and save a fast pass. Watch for deals on the Dining Plan, but don't bother if you are not a big eater. As for shipping trinkets, buy them early because it takes them a couple of days to get them to your hotel. If you're going for 7 or more days, stick in a "rest" day in the middle. Finally, don't be a jerk--be patient.

It is possible to bring a small cooler (emphasis on the word small) with ice packs, and leave it in a locker at the front of a Disney park. You put a small lunch in it (some larger lunchables, fruit, water bottles) and you can enjoy your tailgating lunch at the front of the park. Saves you money, saves you steps out to the car. And yes, even though you need to open it up for security, you can bring that cooler into the park. Remember I'm saying a small cooler like the size of a larger lunch box. I've done this a number of times and it really saves money.

Love the video - Disney is one of our favorite places - a big Don’t in Disney that you were guilty of in your video though is - please don’t put your kids on your shoulders to view the parade or shows. Instead hold your kids up to shoulder level or get there early enough to have a good view for the kids. Having kids on shoulders prevents people behind you from seeing the show or parade and is a big pet peeve for many Disney people. Keep up the great videos!!

I disagree about not using your FP in the mornings. We are rope droppers and start our FP at 10:00. For example, FP the mine train for 10 because that’s where everyone will head first, but we can do everything in Fantasyland before 10 and then waltz right up to the mine train and ride it. If you saved your FP for only in the afternoon, you’d not get to ride much. We use ours up before lunch, then start again.

Taking a break in the middle of the day is a lifesaver. Taking the monorail, boat or bus to the Animal Kingdom Lodge, Grand Floridian, Contemporary, Fort Wilderness, Wilderness Lodge, Boardwalk area or Disney Springs is a great way to explore these unique resorts and grab a bite. Check dining options on the Walt Disney World app ahead of time. Don't expect to walk in and eat at any of the table service restaurants without a reservation. There are good counter service options at most resorts. Also, most resorts have awesome themed swimming pools, so plan some time poolside if you are staying on property to give your feet a break.

We love Disney but yeah... you have to plan, especially now that you have to choose your fastpasses in advance. Once you use your 3 fastpasses you can check and see what else is available and choose other rides. Also, consider staying at the Swan and Dolphin. They include a lot of the Disney property benefits with a cheaper version of a deluxe offering. And the location is great, walking distance to Epcot.

Alright, guys... you want to know the secret to having a great time in Disney? Be kind to the Cast Members. I was a WDW Cast Member and I can tell you that when you guys are nice to us, we will go out of our way to do nice things back. We work very hard to make sure your vacations are seamless and memorable in all the best ways, so when you make our days memorable and happy, we like to show our appreciation. And my second piece of advice? Let loose. Don't worry about who's watching. Sing and dance along to things. Get excited. Disney is a firm believer that growing old doesn't have to mean growing up. Allow yourself to have fun!

I've only recently become aware of your channel but am super impressed at how thorough and accurate your research is. Two years ago I began researching my WDW vacation ( which starts at the end of this week. ) I spent a lot of time looking up weather patterns, crowd patterns, when the attractions are traditionally closed for refurb, traffic construction, resort construction, etc. This video pretty much nailed it. Super impressed. Better than any Disney published video or any Disney planner i spoke to. FYI, my results indicated the single best sweet spot to aim for are the first few weeks of January, right after New Years but before MLK day. Lowest Disney resort rates, minimal interruption from removal of holiday decor, less rain than in the other 11 months, etc.

#9 is a must. Last time I was there, I managed to get up early, grab a quick breakfast, and show up at Disney Studios an hour before it opened. I did the same thing the next day with Epcot. I'm a very patient man, so I can stand around for quite a while. This way, Tower of Terror, and Test Track were both walk-ons for me (I was also able to walk onto Mission: Space after TT, and this was during the summer!) Planning ahead for meals is another must. Take advantage of the concierge service at your resort, especially if you're a AAA member like me, and get meal plans. I learned all about planning meals after my fumbling attempts to get into a sit-down restaurant in the first two days of my week there, after talking to a very nice family from Tennessee while in line for Space Mountain, which had gone down, with the lights on (This was back in 2005, before the ceiling in the queue was closed off from the coaster.) #15 is dead on as well. I went to WDW solo on the same trip in 05, and had a blast. You not only have the parks, but downtown Disney, and all sorts of other goodies for adults.

I really like your channel, and find that I agree with most all of your tips and suggestions (to the extent I have visited the places you talk about, or have material knowledge through my kids, friends, etc.). I worked at Disney World for 5 years from 1976 in the bicentennial parade, and over 4.5 years primarily in the restaurant located within Cinderella’s Castle, which back then was King Stefan’s Banquet Hall. At the time, it was one of I believe, 3 sit-down, waiter/waitress service restaurants, and the nicest, so I had the chance to see, and often meet, a great number of celebrities and dignitaries (including slicing a huge portion of prime rib for Mohammed Ali). I just had to open a back door to the kitchen to watch the fireworks and look down on Fantasyland (before the fairly recent renovations). I had the chance to work many other restaurants as a fill-in, and even got to be Pluto for one day (a tough gig to get). I could wander the underground utilidors, and pop out to wander around the park before or after work (not so freely after closing). They probably made that much tougher since then. We would even sometimes sneak into the Polynesian or Contemporary resorts (pretty much the only ones on property back then) at 1:00 a.m. after closing, until security chased us out. I have a lot of great memories. My only regret is that I left before the other parks opened, and before the “foodie” revolution resulted in many, many top flight restaurants. Thanks for allowing me to reminisce, and keep up the great work. I’m jealous.

I qualify to stay at Shades of Green resort (have to be active duty military, retiree, or 100% disabled veteran) so we had a room there, and it makes a huge difference in cost when it comes to the rooms and ticket prices (very discounted park hopper passes, etc), and maybe a 5 minute bus ride to the transfer station for Magic Kingdom and Epcot. The only time I felt like it was dramatically more crowded than normal was on Main Street on Christmas day.

#9 I've heard the opposite when it comes to that. I've been told that you should actually think about setting aside lazy days and that a great alternative to this tip is to plan your meals earlier or later to beat the lines(i.e. eat lunch at 10-11am or 1-3pm instead of 12-1pm, etc) so that you can go on rides while most everyone else is busy munching. Also, be prepared for tip #9 to really do a number on kids stamina if you have them. Related tip: one easily forgotten meal option is to eat at the resort(i.e. disney hotel) restaurants which are often empty at lunch. Yes, even if you're not staying at the resort, or any resort, you can still go to the hotel restaurants. #21 If you plan your trip through a travel agency, they can find and apply discounts to your tickets, even after you've booked the trip. Every little bit helps

I was lucky to have a planner in my group, made things way easier! So happy that I could chillax ;) so that's my tip: don't forget to take a good planner in your team! Another tip: don't forget your rain jacket, it's nice against rain and isolates against the moist! I noticed when I took my own jacket from the Netherlands with me. Great move :)

You can bring in bottled soft drinks, water. No glass or Alcohol. And food: snacks or even sandwiches. Most places that serve fountain drinks will give you a cup of ice. Also Ice water is free-- so stay hydrated. There are many good picnic areas in the parks...My favorite is Tom Sawyer Island. (Bring in some Cold fried chicken and Ham sandwiches). Also, bring some snack crackers, peanuts, chips etc for snacks. Another 'picnic' area is by the Polynesian and in Fort Wilderness.

Just wanted to let you know that the one and only time i got to go to Disney was right after my mom and stepdad died. His brother sent them a letter telling them that my stepdad had always wanted to take my little brother and died before he had the opportunity. So they sent my brother and uncle a couple of tickets. I of course had saved for mine and some extra for whatever I needed. We had absolute ball while we were there. But you are right about one thing it is HOT!!! It was 106% in the shade when we there! The lines were really short for us though because i was in a wheelchair and was aloud to go to the front of the line.

Gone for the past 15 years. The BEST place to go on vacation. Best advice is to get there at rope drop, leave the park mid day when the heat and crowds get bad and go back to your hotel and nap / enjoy the pool, and then head back in the evening. Also bring an extra pair of socks in your bag!!!

If you want to save on merch and don't particularly care about getting merch at the park, look at Etsy! They have hats, shirts, jerseys, accessories galore for both Disneyland and Disneyworld. It's way cheaper and you have a TON of options.

You can actually bring a lunchbox into disney. When I went with my sister I brought a meal for dinner and ate at one of the restaurants for lunch because it was cheaper. Disney actually doesnt mind if you bring snacks or a lunch. Just no glass containers.

I went to Disney twice as a kid. Once in '76, once in '83. These are the don'ts that I remember. 1) Don't skip Mr Toad's Wild Ride -- sadly I've heard that this one closed. 2) Don't bother with It's a Small World. Zzzzzzzzzzzzz. 3) Don't forget a hat. An older, balding member of the family got sunstroke in '76. 4) Don't drive from New Brunswick, Canada. Fly, you fools! I've heard that a lot has changed since '83.

Thanks for the video! I feel more informed already. Last year we elected to go to Ireland for 10 days rather than Disney for a week. My kids picked based on our reasonable saved budget. I am a child of the 70s and 80s. Is there any benefit to have Florida residents make reservations for you? are there any advantages to the locals do anything for you? I remember ages ago, when rides had tickets, that my parents got a small child's suitcase filled with D and E tickets from a family friend who got them at great discount. These videos give me extra confidence to travel with the whole family and there are few things more disappointing than getting ripped off or taken advantage of whilst travelling on a family vacation. You forewarnings have made me many times foreArmed!

Don't feel like you have to go into the park to enjoy Disney. We were in Orlando for a wedding at Christmas time and the idea of going to the park with our 3 yr old and 3 month old was too much. We did a Character Brunch at Cafe Mickey (Contemporary Hotel) instead and it was awesome. It was laid back because we were not rushing to get back to the park. After we rode the monorail for free. It was perfect and stress free, during an otherwise stressful trip to Orlando. (We saw Mickey, Minnie, Goofy, Donald and Pluto.)

I’m a Central Florida resident who’s been to Disney several times. These tips are mostly still relevant. It’s too bad they did away with the fast pass system in favor of a paid lightning pass, but it still might be worth it to help you enjoy more of the park. Here are my additional “don’ts”: Don’t be a jerk to the employees (“cast members”). They have to deal with a lot of people. If you’re nice to them, sometimes they can really help you out. Most of the time if they tell you “no”, it’s because they have to, not because they want to. Don’t think that Magic Kingdom is the end-all be-all of Disney World. It’s a fantastic park, but the other parks are superb as well. In fact, I tend to enjoy the other parks a bit more than Magic Kingdom. Don’t think Animal Kingdom and Hollywood Studios are “half day” parks (i.e. you only need half a day to see the whole park). That used to be the case, but Disney has added a lot to those parks recently. If you only spend a half day, you’ll really be missing out on a lot of fun stuff.

Here's my strategy for hitting up the parks if I'm using ParkHopper (assuming I'm staying 2-3 days) Day 1: Hollywood Studios Magic Kingdom Day 2: Animal Kingdom Epcot *Day 3: Disney Springs If you're staying for a couple of extra days and up for it, hit up the water parks. I'm not much of a water park person myself but I enjoyed Blizzard Beach a ton. Source: Born and raised in Florida, been to Disney World dozens of times

A coupe of things you missed or got wrong 1. You can’t book meeting with princesses 6 months in advance (like you can with restaurants) it’s one of the fast passes that you can book 30/60 days in advance 2. Staying in Disney hotels you can also stay in a park 2 hours late in addition to the hour early that you mentioned 3. Use Fastpasses in the early afternoon because while you are correct about the lines being short early in the morning (1-1.5 hours in the busy season, 2-3 hours in the slower season) , but you can get more Fastpasses after you use your first three, so use them earlier in the afternoon, so you can book more 4. If you can afford a trip long enough (6-7 days in Disney, plus 2, maybe 3 days in universal if you want), go to all the parks, so you can enjoy them all. Also, if you’re up to it, stay in the park all day, you’ll be able to see a lot of different types of things (Also, I can agree more about plan, plan, plan) Also, WHY DO YOU LOVE THE TEACUPS?!?! It’s a plain ride you can see in most local amusement parks. There are so many amazing creative attractions in Disney

The first time I went to Disney when I was a kid was like 2 weeks after 9-11 and my family was taking a vacation elsewhere, we just happened to be driving by disney and my dad decided that because the park was so empty, we were going to stay for the day. I'd love to go to Disney one day, but the amount of planning does put me off. I've never been on a holiday before where you really have to know what you're doing in advance, and cant just go with the flow and see how you feel on the day. I see all the tips about fast passes and parent swaps and booking ahead for things, and it all just seems really stressful! Is it really as confusing as it seems at Disney, or is it much more simple when you actually go?

True story! Nana gave the kids $100 to spend as they wanted. We held the money and cautioned that what they buy, they carry ALL DAY. Dad was not a pack horse. At the end of day, they were beat and walked past the large souvenirs. A small piece that fit in their pocket! And they had money for the next day! Just a thought!😁

Also as a tip I've learned since my 4 times going. If bringing children (more than likely you are) make sure your youngest is at least 5. Trust and believe me, bringing a child younger than that makes things a little more complicated.

You can go to all the parks in one visit to Disney my family and I do that every time we go. We are normally there for about 4 full days to visit th parks and we have kinda 2 other days but that is when we have arrived and are leaving. With the days when we visit the parks we have one full day for magic kingdom another full day for Hollywood studios and we usually combine animal kingdom and Epcot in one day because they both don't have a lot of ride so we can easily do that and we have a day to relax at the hotel we are staying at. You can combine other parks together in one day except for magic kingdom because it has a lot and you will need a full day. If your staying 4 full days then you can go to one park a day and still have some time to relax at the hotel the best day for that would be on the day you go to animal kingdom and go there in the morning then come back and relax or you can just go to the parks and not relax at the hotel but I think it is good to have some time to stay at the hotel whether it is all day or part of the day but it is up to you and what you want to do
