Visit The Natural Tunnel State Park

Visit The Natural Tunnel State Park in the extreme southwest corner of Virginia near the Tennessee State Line. This visit was part of a 7 day road trip I did throughout the southeast United States. This location features a gift shop with drinks and snacks, a chair lift (for an extra fee) to get down to the tunnel, a static display steam locomotive and playground for kids plus a few hiking trails. To enter this state park you stop at the self pay station at the entrance and deposit $5 into an envelope and you tear off a ticket and place it onto the dashboard of your vehicle during the duration of your visit.

There is no way I could go to Lover's Leap as I have a thing about height's. When I was younger, say in my teens, it would have been fine, but since I am 68, that is no longer an option. And knee problems prevent the walk too. I will be having knee replacement in August, so I am hoping I'll be able to walk more. But it all is something to see & breathtaking. Thanks for sharing!

Just take your time walking up and im sure if its cooler weather it will help you more. I have issues with heights as well but I get to a point I say hell why not and go for it anyway 😅

I had a friend, Jim Preece, who passed on March 30, 2023. who would have loved this. I don't know if he knew about this or not. He was from West VA & was a train fanatic. I wish he was living, so I could share this with him.
