You hit the highlights for sure! It is pronounced B -ewe-t, as in beautiful. Also, cairns are commonly used in State and National Parks (not all) as trail markers, especially on rock and desert trials. Some are memorials. Enjoy our magnificent state!

Ah, good to know about the rock piles. Admittedly they did help us find our way. We’d just read on the signs not to move rocks and things so assumed they were man made. Absolutely LOVE Utah!

haha, Mike keeps telling me off that I'm pronouncing it wrong.. But in school I learned if it was a double-consonant, then it was pronounced uh, and a single consonant then it would be "you". and it's more fun to say butt!
