My parents took me to see Jeremiah Johnson on the big screen when it came out. I was just a kid but it reminded me of my Dad and made quite an impression on me. I have it on DVD and still watch it probably 2 times a year, once with my Mom, and once with my Son.

Love this reply. Been watching "Field Days" lately, dude is a plumber in australia and only works enough hours a year to get around the world and live life on the water and off the land. Much like our beloved Greg here. Truth is, I don't have the balls for it. But I respect them that much more for it

I've been addicted to Greg's Channel since his 30 Day Survival Challenge in the Canadian Rockies. In one episode he said the tip of this mountain he and Zack were driving by "looks like a nipple", and from then on, I've enjoyed this mans sense of humor. He reminds me of my late father who loved to hunt and go camping before he became paralyzed. My dad had the long hair, a huge bushy beard, definitely looked like an outdoors man. Greg seems a lot like my father was. When I would go camping with my dad as a teenager my father would start up a raging, cozy fire, get our food ready for cooking, he always brought along some type of fresh meat, usually venicin, brisket, or ribs, and he would smoke it before putting it on the fire, go fishing point out edible and medicinal plants, chopped wood, listened to the radio, told us some amazing stories from experiences he had in the past, usually stories from when he was a marine. A ritual of ours was to find the perfect walking stick, and during our little expedition we would work on these walking sticks by making little carvings into them. I actually still have a walking stick that him and i found, it has such a really cool shape. I brought it home, sanded it, made some designs on it, stained it and my father got me straps of leather to put up top for the handle. It's better than any walking stick or even a cane that you could purchase from a store. I really enjoyed those camping trips. If I could spend one more day with my dad, that's what I'd do. Go on one of our camping expeditions. Specifically, North Conway, New Hampshire. Only difference between Greg and my dad is we would have an after dinner mint rolled in the size of a joint and relax under the stars just listening to camp fire stories, listening to the wood crackle and pop as it burned in the fire, the scent of the pines. The sound of the leaves crunching, the way the wind would blow through the trees. I'll cherish those memories forever. Thank you Greg for bringing those memories back to life, even if its only for a few minutes. I appreciate it. 👍💚

Well I listened to your ordeal with the airlines. Comparing yourself to Rambo or maybe a cross between Rambo and Grizzly Adams may make some people nervous. I compare your ordeal with a gentleman I met a while back. He told me of going to a car dealership. He was dressed in bib overalls, plaid shirt and work boots. His wife was comfortably dressed. Almost all of the salesmen avoided them. One man came forward and treated them with respect and showed them several vehicles he thought may suit them. They told the young man they were going to think about it over lunch. They went home got changed into their Sunday best and returned to the same dealership. All those other salesmen jumped to try and help them. Instead they asked for the other salesman by name and let him sell them the vehicle. You and this gentleman I speak of are one of a kind of hard working people and just because you don't dress up to someone else's idea for travel or what ever they don't treat you with the kind of respect you deserve. You have a great channel and I hope you gain the following you deserve. So keep up the great job you do and keep living your dreams.

Great video Greg! My old stomping grounds lived in Rutland for 20 years got tired of the snow, move to Florida but both my grown kids and my mother still lived there had a lot of good times up at Rocky pond. There are so many good fishing spots in the state, hiking trails! Been on a lot of them over the years! So many places just to go and you could say just get lost for a few days and enjoy nature. There is a lot I do miss but winter is not one of them. Just went up this past year in October for 2 weeks in the woods it was a great experience and relaxing.

Been there. They always made me wait at airports to leave costa rica. too many people judge, just cause we have long hair. Always searched my bags. I have 2 college degrees and finally cut my hair in 2000. just so i did not have to wait and get hassled. Greg, your a GREAT guy! DON'T let them get you down. They are some of the most rude types of people on the planet... Baggage handlers and desk jockies will never be able to make a fire or survive 3 days in the wild!! HAA Ha Also a fellow drywaller and professional taper painter. I like what i do and working with your hands gives one a sense of real work and satisfaction at the end of the day. I met my wife covered in drywall dust and Primer on my finger nails. She said "MMM your sexy all dirty>" "SALT of the EARTH".. MOST airport employees hate there job soo much they go home and drink to forget.. Its real men like us that can really appreciate TRUE FREINDS>> THANKS for all the knowledge and a few laughs,!!! PEACE Dave and LY
